JUst bought a 16,000-mile '53 reg Punto 1.9 JTD and the clutch is concerning me a little. I can see/feel that it has a relatively short throw pedal, compared to the Kia Sedona we also own, but it seems to be biting hellishly close to the floor i.e. more or less as soon as the pedal starts to lift off the floor. Is this a normal feature of Puntos or cause for concern?

Turns out the clutch is also slipping! Why I did not check for this on the test drive I do not know, probably because I had Mrs Crowmark with me and she would have panicked/asked me what the hell I was doing etc! Anyhoo, took it back to the dealer, they tested it, acknowkedged the fault and will fit a new clutch, so we'll see if they find anything else while they're there.
