hi and thankyou for hopefully helping me :)

my girlfriend has a seicento micheal schumacher sporting 1.1, forgive me if that is wrong or doesn't make sence :), and the problem that the car has is that whenever she fires the car up the engine shakes like mad. The only thing i can compare it too is the feeling of stalling, when the car shakes along with the engine. i at first thought that a engine mount had come loose or something along that line but it obviuosly is not that problem. so im seeking help from the most knowledgable people in the game, YOU! :)

if you have any suggestions on what you think it could be then please reply, i would be very greatfull :)

thankyou for your help

could be a few things first check the plugs then the plug leads ,after that it could be a coil pack. or could be head problems "gasket" but check the spark plugs first. Its easier to get your local mechanic to check these for you .if your a novice after these checks you need help from a pro...

thanks :)

we were told that it could be an engine managment problem to do with the cars cpu? does that sound like a possibility? and are seicento's prome to this kind of problem?

once again thanks alot for your help :)

highly unlikely to be the "Ecu" you need to start thinking easy before you start ripping expensive things like the ecu .but to be honest you need somebody to diagnose the problem for you "Reader etc"..check "ht leads first and spark plugs" its the cheapest thing to start with and you need very little knowledge.

If it's a late model running the similar ECU to the mk2 Punto, and the engine's running on 2 cyls with a coil 1 or 2 error in the system, it's highly possible that it's the common ECU coil driver failure problem.

Swap the coils around to see if the fault switches cylinders also. If it continues to run on the same two cyls- it's probably the ECU.

it is a later model, 51 reg i think. the broken coil has been replaced but then broke again not long after. the garage said that it needs the error code reading but apprently only fiat can access the ecu. is that true?

thanks LOADS!!! :)
