Does anyone out there know if a turbo from a peugeot HDI will fit onto a 2.0jtd engine? there seems to be plenty of used HDI turbos around but not any specifically for the JTD. My Ulysse 2.0 jtd (2001) smokes more than i do!

the 2.0 JTD in the ulysse is actually the peugeot DW10 2.0 HDi engine, IIRC. there's lots to go wrong with them, EGR, intake flap etc. make sure all of that gear is working before blaming the turbo for smokiness.

Thanks for that info, i have tried moving the intake flap whilst the engine is running and it made no difference, the smoke is that bad you would think that neat diesel or oil were being poured into the exhaust when the engine is revved. There is also exhaust fumes coming from the drivers side front of the car, it comes up the side into the engine bay. I have a turbo on its way so will try that, further investigation will be required though.

Hi there My friend has fiat ulysse 2.0 JTD 2003 model smokes really bad took it too Main dealer they said turbo was knackered.I do most of my own work and he asked me to find out if it was i had heard EGR valve's were for going wrong as well and if turbo was gone would it not make noise. Also i can locate a turbo if that is the case but it is Peugeot 2.0 hdi one will this still fit

Usually a lack of replies means you didn't post in the right place.

Assuming it's an issue with a particular type of FIAT, post in the section for that model.
