Hi,

I'm looking for a good OBD- reader also capable of resetting service lights etc?
Ducato (2003) suitable?

Maybe somebody can lead the way for picking up a good choice?

What major points should I take under consideration? Software, specification, quality etc?

What is the right communication method (KKL...etc)?

Thanks a lot.

OBD and Service/Oil Resets do not go together. Unless you are willing to spend £1500+ then you will have to use separate units from companies like Autel and Sykes Pickavant Diagnostics.

I suggest you look at FiatECUScan (fiatecuscan.net). This is capable of quite a lot now and Yani is delivering more function in every release.

This is a rapidly developing market with more tools becoming available.

I'm not familiar with the Ducato but would say that engine, airbag and abs are coverable with FiatECUScan and a simple KKL cable. I can't comment on Service/Oil resets other than with a 2003 Ducato I would think that only the service reset is required as i don't believe it has DPF/oil service requirements.

Your Ducato is unlikely to have a CAN bus (I could be wrong).
