Hello,

Have had a look through a number of the posts on here about this (common) problem.

basically this morning my Blue&Me steering wheel controls weren't working and they were on my drive home last night. So after a root around on the FF I found that disconnecting the battery for 20mins or so would do a hard reset.

So I disconnected the Earth connections...left for about 5mins (as I was very cold) and then reconnected, the Blue&Me controls now work however, when I start the car now I get the ASR disconnected and the ESP and Hill Holder are not functioning (as they are all inter-connected). Tried re-starting a few times but same thing.

Any ideas? Should I try a 20 minute disconnect? Anyone know what could be going on? Car drove home fine, no problems, seems to be related to the battery disconnect.

So, I was worrying about it so went back out.

Disconnected Earth for 20+ minutes. Restarted car and same error message. Took it for a 30 second drive and as soon as I pulled off everything was back to how it should be. Restarted and all good.

Fingers crossed!!

Hello, I see that this is an old post but thought I would reply in case people out there are getting the problem (im sure there will be plenty!).

I had this problem start about a year ago and saw someone on a forum say that it can be caused by resting your foot on the clutch when driving, so I stopped doing this and brilliantly it seemed to work and I didnt get the problem for about 4 months.

Now, out of the blue, the problem has come back and no matter if i rest my foot on the clutch or not, the problem persists.

Can anyone offer any advice regarding this problem? It isnt going to be easy when it comes round to selling the thing if it has such worrying warnings coming up on the dash!

Many thanks in advance,

James.

Hello, This will be a dodgy battery. The same fault accured for me the last couple of days, new battery fixed it. This seems to be a very common problem.

I've known I've had a duff battery for a while: goes flat if left for 2 weeks without driving more than 10 mins, and then this ago issue just popped up at the end of a 3 hr drive, hoping a replacement battery does the trick!
