N/A diesels

im used to driving a sprinter without a turbo and my dads cabstar.... both flatbeds...

get into the transit tdci or merc vito van and its completry different...

i would go as fas saying my dads vito van was near enough as quick as my stilo empty :p:eek:

My 56 Doblo is a 1.9 Diesel (120) Multijet 7 seater and that doesnt have a turbo - it could do with one I am sure. Even with the 1.9 L engine it does struggle or maybe I am just to light on the gas. If the 1.9L is like this, what is the 1.3 L version like ? I wish I had gone for the petrol version now but always felt the diesel would be more economical. Apparently not the case and its quite expensive to service. Yesterdays oil + filter change came to £ 101 !!!

correct matt I think he is refering to the 1.9DS as the 1.9MJ is actually quite rapid. The 1.3MJ is quicker than the 1.9DS I reckon...there is no 1.3 non-turbo version but a 1.2 & 1.4 petrol.

just been behind an SDi golf.... completely forgot got about that dogger of an engine- is it turbo charged? 0-60 is like 18seconds lol

EDIT: its not, 75bhp, 103lb ft of torque LOL

thats why most dont have n/a diesels lol

I've driven a clio and espace n/a diesels. The clio was a 1.5 affair. Was probably slower than my 1.4 8v GP, but it did havegreat torque - could be lasy and just use 2nd and 5th gear :)

The 2 litre Espace was dog slow and drank fuel - though due to the size of the vehicle was great for cruising.
