a general question as i'm after ideas of how to go about attaching harnesses to standard seating.

i'm thinking of attaching them to the seat its self so the rear seats can still be accessable but i may consider bolting them to the rear seatbelts if nessesary.

thoughts/pictures welcomed!

i did wonder about that.

mind you, if you attach them to the rear and tear the car in half, going through the windscreen with a seat attached doesnt sound like such a bad idea...

anyway, advice welcomed on the best way to go about it :)

I'm looking into fitting some 3 point harnesses, but want to know the mounting points/locations etc for front seats etc.

fitting a harness to a standard seat is a sure fire way to breaking your back in an accident.
the harness has no give in it and the seat isnt strong enough to handle this therefore snapping in two and pulling you down with the force of it!

Dont do it, do it properly and fit race seats for race harnesses

starting to go a bit further than i really wanted to at the moment, if i'm going to get bucket seats i may aswell get something nice and ivory leather trimmed to match my interior as it is.

otherwise i'll wait till i fell it needs stripping out and turning into a track car.

I think that's a good idea -- or the wotsits you mentioned. Problem is, cages really go with full harnesses and race seats.
