Hi Iv been reading up on this in the forum, but what im reading is that if installing a new headunit, it will always be on either with or without the ignition being on unless u have connect nav(but then why change?). this to me sounds a silly stilo way, so im just asking for a deffinate answer that there is no way of getting an ignition feed into the stereo and make it work like stereos should.

thanks

I dont know much about the things that make cars go, but surely you must be able to disconnect the live from the ignition and run a direct live to the head unit from another source (ie the battery with an inline fuse), thus enabling you to turn it on and off manually as you wish. I could be wrong but I'm sure this should be possible as it is in other cars.

thats possible but what im reading is if u want it to go off with the ignition then there are problems

i take it its different for all stereos but to do this i take it i get the stereo red power wire and ignition wire stick em in the same hole which conects to the stilos power and hey presto power alll the time or at least until power is off or face plate is removed?
