How long does it take for the 3rd year warranty letter to come through and do I get a proper AA card eventually?

I had the window etching database letter about a week after collecting the car, so I'm on the system somewhere!

I got mine around 4 weeks after collecting the car.... I was looking through some of the papers in a folder and came across that letter with date.

YES... its not like a credit card type plastic but a printed cardboard with a plastic cover and is attached to the letter... but just peals off easy enough.

It doubles up as the 3yr Warranty and the AA card.

I'm 3 weeks now so soon then! Does it come from Fiat UK or dealer?

Thanks

It comes from Fiat UK... below is a quick digi shot of the letter

The third year is described as a dealer warranty, is that with the dealer who sold the car or can it be transfered any dealer?

My understanding of it is that its a Fiat Dealer warranty and you can goto any Fiat dealer to have your car looked at not just the one the car was bought from.

I just went and found the Warranty booklet I have... in it it states that all you have to do it take your Warranty card the one that would have been attached on my pic above, your service booklet and any proof of servicing.

the 3rd year Dealer warranty covers any componant that is part of the manufacturers original build specification in the 3rd year ( or upto 60,000 miles from the date of registration. )

if its a second hand Fiat then the transfer of 3rd year warranty must have been transfered withing 30 days of the sale of the car and you would have to pay £23.50 to have the details changed and a new card issued.

Looking at the small print, the 3rd year warranty covers sweet naff all. It's hardly worth it, that's why I'm going to get my 2nd service in a month before it's two years old to make sure everything is still under warranty.

As for your warranty card, when my brake lights were stuck on I rang the AA and just quoted my registration number. They knew all about me and didn't bother checking anything when the guy turned up (even if he couldn't do too much to fix it, although it's amazing what a bit of gaffer tape can fix!).

Still waiting for my letter, 5 weeks now so sent Fiat an email, but have never had a reply from that email address! Except the auto we will reply in 24hours!

If I wait another week is it best to ring them or is that a waste of time also?

Cheers

HornetUK, I was in the same boat until yesterday. Ring them. They had cashed my cheque and admitted that I should have received the documentation by now. After much apologising they promised to get the paperwork to me for today, or at least confirmation that the warranty was registered in my name. Call them and get it sorted. I will let you know if the paperwork turns up today.

My letter arrived three weeks after purchaseing my car.

The Fiat dealership I bought the car from (Fish Brothers Swindon) did the paperwork and paid for the transfer for me.

Bozzy,

What number did you ring? I've been trying to get this sorted since last September but still no luck - I've sent two forms in but neither cheque has been cashed yet!!!

hmm, 8 months on and ive had none of the above mentioned letters, be it about warrenty, AA or the owners security database. The car was bought at arnold clark. But when the car was in for warrenty work they excepted it without question.
Everything appears fine but it seems a bit odd that nothings been sent here

My letter arrived today..AA Card & 3rd year warranty confirmation. Everything fine in my Stilo world now, just deciding whether to go back re. the wind noise, which my father had a listen to & said what you moaning about it doesn't whistle or howl...which it doesn't but likewise theres no wind noise on the passenger side at 50+mph!

Wouldn't bother about the wind noise, it won't get fixed, Fiat dealers are hopeless! Mine has the same fault, but all i got was "its no worse than any other Stilo". My reply "So mine must be been extra good, but now its as mince as all the other Stilo's you've sold!" B)
