Nige, one thing I've often wondered is are the standard brakes and suspension up to the power hike? Or would they need upgrading?

They are up to it, but obviously upgraded brakes are better. We can do the whol job as a package if you were interested.

As I've said before, I'd love to... one day! LOL

Thing is I'm insured with Directline and as I'm under 25 they won't let me mod my car, at all:(

They wouldn't even let me add the fiat sideskirts[:(!]

What brakes do you go for anyway?

It is standard 80bhp, now it's 112 with a K&N panel filter as well. But it's the torque :D increase I notice most.
If you can't get a remap get one of these.
EDIT Been averaging 51mpg these last few days with longer than usual journeys.

Nige, 175bhp, thats awesome, does the power delivery low down remain good 'n smooth, or does it end up a little peaky?

Also, I've heard you mention before a 3000rpm prob other tuners experience, what is this?

Stilo TURBO!!!!(diesel)

The power delivery is very smooth, much smoother than it is originally, however you do need to learn to change gear quciker as it revs a hell of a lot faster.

The 3000rpm "issue" is an "issue" that can be found at 3000rpm, if you give it too much power ;)

Yeah but what happens with this 'issue' does the engine blow up? Does it cut out? Does it smoke heavily?

Speaking of smoking heavily, when the JTD engine is tuned is it more prone to belching out plumes of the black stuff? I was pleasantly surprised that mine doesn't, esp as my mates old Brava TD75 used, I know that unit has little in common with mine, but, you know;)

A remap is well worth it and as far as i know insurance companies can not detect them, am i correct nige.

On the matter of the remap, which i will hopefully gettin in a month or so, what is your opinion on the diesel dump valves that are out now, are they worth it are there any perfomance gains and are they loud!

So nige you still up for making the fastest stilo from my car?????

I havent tried one of these dump valves so cant comment.

As for the 3000 issue, its only a boost pressure thing that occurs on all JTD engines, you wont get it unless we intentionally get your car to do it so dont worry about it - lol, why should I give away our hard earned experience on a forum :D. Rest assured it wont damage it though!

The black smoke can occur, if it does we wind it back a bit so it doesn't. It's rare we do get it - only Alfa seems to get it, but then that is way over powered on some versions we put on it;)

Have a look in the Ulysse section on here for comments on both what we do and ourselves from John, who's Ulysse 2.0JTD we tuned this week.
