Hello Everyone

Well as the title suggests, Angel Tuning now have the available equipment to Remap our beloved 1.6 Stilos and as their first customer of this product I feel it only correct to post a report.

Firstly, for any of you who haven't met Nige, I believe he worked for the AA in a previous life as he's a very nice man, no joking aside, he's friendly, helpful and knows his stuff, the Customer Service he provided was second to none, he really cares about his clients.

The remap was quick and convenient, takes about an hour in all, then it was off for a test ride, I only had time to go around the block but there is an immediate noticeable difference, quicker acceleration for one.

Ok, what I'm going to do is evaluate the map over the next week in real world driving conditions and post a follow up report, keep your eyes open.

In the meantime, all of the people that have been waiting for this, it's here, call him, book it, get the job done........................

Cheers
Savi.

Hi mate have you got details of proven BHP increase from the mapping ?

Hi

I have no printouts from a Dyno, however, I'm guessing that the hardware and software that they use is developed and tested on the said vehicle on a Dyno, then sold on to the guys that do the tuning.

The BHP increase is 12bhp I believe, not a great deal but this is an old Tipo engine, normally aspirated and the Stilo weighs a ton so any bhp is good bhp.

Been out for another drive and I have found that the car accelerates quicker, and there is more grunt from 3500-5000rpm, I think they call it torque, this gives you greater overtaking capability. Overall it is an improvement, I'd say this modification gives you greater driveability rather than greater horsepower.

I'm hoping for some increased fuel effeciency as my Stilo is crap averaging 25mpg and no I don't drive it like I've stolen it.

Cheers.

prices will be on the angel tuning web site or ring for a quote;)

Yeah I know it is and just to think that for a little more money £400 total Savi could have his stilo running at 120BHP like mine and have a GSR induction as well and I would have got to meet the Italian stallion and enjoyed fitting it on for him and inclusive of the £400 would be a dyno run proving that he has the BHP :)

but for a little more money you could have got a proper car without too many doors, this is the angel tuning thread, not the what else you could have had thread :p

also going by the average remap from angel prices for petrol fiats, that price you put above is more like double.

I'm not at liberty to say, but he done me a tremendous deal, he will be posting up the prices on his website for the remap, I think £400 is a lot of money for an extra 15 horses, by the way, just went out for another 'test ride' and ragged it, it is definitely quicker, I think I'm gonna need bigger brakes......................

We will get the BHP tested at on INDEPENDANT and calibrated dyno as soon as we have the chance until then we can only speculate on a realistic 10% on a standard car.

The ECU is remapped from the diagnostic port and takes a bit longer than an hour, but at least its done from inside the car lol!

Price wise, we are launching this at £235 including VAT and coming to you. Induction kit wise, a DIA would be an extra £80 fitted, or get one of the excellent kits direct from GSR. All the usual NO QUIBBLE money back promises if you are not happy, full VAT receipt.

We are also able to map the 1.2 8v Punto's, the 1.1 Seicento's and a few others although we are still playing about with these!

Please do not PM us :)

We are permanently north of the border, Angel Tuning Scotland are on 087 091 091 17.

OBD tuning of the Stilo 1.2, 1.4. 1.6. 1.9 (8v and 16v) and 2.4 are available mobile all over Scotland and Ireland as well as England, Wales and Northern Europe (oh and Cyprus of course :-D! )

Guys, I haven't been around for some time, but I remember this forum being as hostile then as it is now, what's up with some of the folk on here, this was a genuine post celebrating the tuning of my motor and sharing my experience of Angel Tuning.

This thread has been hijacked and turned into some ****tey comments channel.

Poor show.

Sorry about the thread, Savi - some people just don't know when to stop - so done a quick tidy up for you, although may do some more in a bit ;)

At the end of the day, people have to realise that Nige at Angel has been a key part of this forum for many years. His 2.4 remap was installed on my car ages ago, long before others were in the market - now a new map has been developed by others, then great (y) but that doesn't mean Nige hasn't also progressed with the times.

As for Bo thinking this was the first time a map has been developed for the 1.6, then maybe he is under that impression - after all, he hasn't exactly been active on here much, and may have missed certain R/R threads about the 1.6 remap - so don't jump to conclusions and take it as digs against other tuning companies.

The service Angel offer is top notch; I can't fault it, and nor can others - in this case, Savi is praising his remapped car from Angel, not looking for criticism or offtopic comments; he hasn't posted on here so that this thread can be trashed with WHAT YOU THINK he should have done, ok.

Peace :spin:
