Had my stiol since june, just realised that there are light on the inside of the door! Opened up the casing and no bulbs! Anyone help? Type etc?

i'd put some nice bright blue LED's in there, with a matching resistor.

Do you mean the red reflectors on the door cards?.. I was wishing just last night that they were lights.

When i got my Stilo my door light wasnt workin, i just took it back to the garage i got it from and they sorted it out for me within a hour or so!

Oh so they are lights... is this yet another thing that isnt working on my car?

I thought mine were just reflectors, they have never lit up for me at all

Some Stilos didn't have the bulbs fitted, lazy italians you just need to buy the bulbs

I'll get a screwdriver and pop a cover off tommorrow and have a look at whats behind in that case.

Early stilos had lights in the door I think the lenses are red and white but from 03 I think they changed them to red reflectors, the wires are there and go into a bulb holder but no bulb or wires in the bulb holder. If you want light you will need to find some early lamps to replace them with

mines an 03 and I have lights, but an 04 courtesy car didn't have them, just the red reflectors like you said.

Well mines a 52 plate 2003 so in therory should have the wiring under the red lens.

I think, rahter strange this, that some models had them, others had the lens fitted so they all look alike but then they were never fitted with the innards ! Odd bit of Fiat penny-pinching, depends which exact model it is I believe.

its also the same for the light in the ashtray. Mine has one although the bulb has gone. Some people never had one

The answer is that FIAT fitted the puddle lights until December 02 (chassis number 00264340, so by about 52/03 onwards), when they were removed and a reflector was put in instead (to reduce the cost of keeping new door trims in stock and to remake the mould). Due to customer feedback, they were reintroduced in 05/2003 (chassis number 00314035).

Obviously some cars aren't registered immediately so variations on age range will occur.

My late 53 plate must be an exception.... its got reflectors lol.
