As you'll know, today was D-day for my Stilo's catelog of failings.
1. Middle airvent knob in bits
2. One of the rear interior lights failed
3. Drivers door seal failed (wistling like a banshee)
4. Radiator fan kicks in of its own accord but only when wet
5. Passenger door welded shut (very handy on a 3 door)
6. Indicators don't flash when locking/unlocking doors
So i drop my car off at 8:15 this morning and i return at 5:15pm to pick it up.... Thats 9 hours, nine hours in which to repair some fairly easy faults, 9 hours in which to phone me to tell me it was fixed, 9 hours in which i was not phoned. [!]
So i turn up trying to be cheery, bloke behind the counter, whom booked my car in 7 days ago, says "yes, can i help you?" Erm well yes, remember i booked my car in last week, i dropped it off today!!! [!]
Oh yeah, right, so he gets the little booklet the keys have been put in, reads back the comments to me. Pardon my French, but your F**KING LOVE THIS. [!]
1. Checked air vent, broken, new one required, now ordered!
2. Checked rear light, broken, new one required, now ordered!
3. Checked for air noise, no different to any other Stilo!
4. Checked fan operation, will require to be left overnight to check when cold, no fault found!
5. N/S/F locking working fine!
Ordered required parts car rebooked for 6/4/04
SO AM I F**KING MUTE, INVISIBLE, OR DID I IMAGINE I'D BOOKED MY CAR IN FOR REPAIRS!
All i got was a bunch of parrets repeating what i'd already identified!!! [!]
So to recap it all, even though i'd pointed out stuff was broken they didn't believe me, the door which didn't open miraculously opened whilst being repaired, but then welded itself shut as soon as i arrived, the door seal was obviously abnormally good when i first got my car, but is now as s**t as every other Stilo. The fan which only plays up when wet needs to be checked when cold, f**k knows why! Oh and the flashing indicators was conveniently brushed under the carpet!
F**king bunch of hapless f*nnies!
Fiat, you'll never go back! Never got back to a Fiat that is!
The car is re-booked in again tomorrow, another day car less, oh and on the 6th another day carless, thats 3 f**king days to fix something your average grease monkey could repair! Oh yeah and finally, i'll be needing an interior valet after i assume the mechanic had checked under the bonnet of the dirtiest car in the workshop and then fingered my roof lining all around the rear light!
And if i dont get complete satisfaction after the 6th i'll be rejecting the car, i could have bought a 6 year old car with intergallactic milage and had less faults... oh aye i did, i sold it for a more reliable car! [V]
2003 3 Door Stilo 1.2 Active, Sassy Grey, 5 disc CD Changer, Abarth boot badge, plastic wheel trims - and 42.4mpg average so far. Love it, not at the moment, seeing as the car is having a strop!!
