Technical Here is a good one - man walks into a Fiat dealer

My mate got his Focus from Laidlaw, was hassle free, but lambarts in Leven wouldnt even do business with him. thought he was some jobless skivvy or something. bit daft considering he's full time army.

Laidlaw where bad to a neighbour, seems the sales person she got was a bit of a sexist pig and was forcing a ford Ka on her even though she wanted a fiesta. Ironicly she went to arnold and got a punto, also been happy since.

Im wondering what Parks are like as a dealer. seems they took over the abercrombie lot in dunfermline and ive spotted they have a Bravo up there in the advert in the paper yesterday.

As for forthway. got my car in at 10:30 today, dont even think they touched it until 4pm, and thus run out of work time to deal with the car. never got my promised phone calls either. I kept having to nag. Begining to fear a loosing battle here

StiloBoy GOODLUCK tomorrow, is it booked in for one day again & what exactly are they fixing?

Car is in getting fixed now. Seems they ordered a door seal, bet they pocket it and claim they replaced it, wouldn't put it past them! B)

Pick the car up at 5pm, so thats another 9 hours car less.... :(

Pah, courtesy car, that would have suggested they could be courtious! :( Not a hope, i asked for one! I work in IT i need my car every day... i'm fooked all the walking i've done, and there is sites i was supposed to visit but didn't!

Picking the car up soon, well the wife is picking me up in 10 minutes, so we'll know soon if they'd done a decent job!

I find strange that in the UK you don't get a courtesy car. The society there is much more consumer-oriented and the customer service much better than here in Switzerland, however I always get a courtesy car here even if I leave my car for a couple of hours. And that is a standard procedure of all garages, even small ones (they have some old cars to give to their customers)...

Well get this, i get the car back, its taken them all day to change the vents above the stereo and lubricate the passenger lock (not replace like i'd insisted). Not replace the interior light, its not arrived, so why get me to bring the car in when they don't have all the parts!

Best of all the drive home was all squeeks and rattles.... lovely! First i note the passenger door sounds all squeeky, and the speaker is all crackling when i turn the stereo on!

Then i notice something strange, the stereo never asked me for the keycode, or the CD changer for that matter! I notice that when i turn right turns the middle of the dash gives out a constant squeek, then i note the drivers side of the head-unit is sitting 1/4" proud of the dash, so i push it back in properly and the dash squeek at least stops!

So they haven't even disconnected the battery when they were hamfistedly removing my stereo, would have been interesting to see if they owned up if they'd blown half the stereo or half the electrics! B)

So thats two Arnold Clark dealerships i won't be using again, Dunfermline now! :(

Now i'm off to write a rather long email to Fiat UK customer relations! Decided i'm going to land those dicks at Arnold Clark right in it! I noted on the inventory of parts for warranty repair they had a door seal, but they never replaced mine, so thats fraud, not only are they ripping off Fiat UK but they are ripping off me!!! [:(!]

Stiloboy, I have to say my recent experience with Reg Vardy in Sunderland has been much better, they replace what needs replacing, no faffing about trying to fix things, its a new car FFS, if something has broken already it is defective, not worn out!

Plus, my car had the battery cover screws missing, a minor point, but Gainmanor wanted to charge me to replace them, 'because they should have been picked up in the PDI', they then said, 'should only cost you coppers though' So why charge me then? Why lose good will over coppers? Reg Vardy replaced them, for free:D

What about the break disc noise?

Why was the stereo coming out? So what is sorted of the below original 6?

1. Middle airvent knob in bits
2. One of the rear interior lights failed
3. Drivers door seal failed (wistling like a banshee)
4. Radiator fan kicks in of its own accord but only when wet
5. Passenger door welded shut (very handy on a 3 door)
6. Indicators don't flash when locking/unlocking doors

Hornet, they changed the interior air vent, the passenger door fixed itself (they just made a tit by taking the door trim off and not fitting it properly again, hence rattling).

Fook all else done, thats why i'm voting with my feet, i don't car if they get the interior light in now, i'll ask them to send it to another branch of Arnold Clark and try my luck with a 3 of their dealers! :(

Beware the door fixing itself, more likely an intermitant fault, mine 'fixed itself' but they still replaced the lock, insist your dealer does too;)

Just reread your last post, good old Arnie has you guys sewn up doesn't he? Voting with your feet has somewhat impact when your just providing business to a different branch of the same company.

Is there no one else at all deals in Fiat up in Bonny Scotland? How bout a trip over the border (don't know exactly how far North you are mind!)

Having a look on fiats dealer locator I only found one indipendent dealer besides Reg vardy and parks group, myself and stiloboy could use is W B COWAN in tranent which is on its way past edinburgh and towards north berwick. That is at least a 120 mile round trip, maybe more :(
http://www.wbcowan.fiat.co.uk/ for more info on them. Im sort of wondering if maybe they are good.

There is mention of a SouthPark garage in Peebles that deals with after sales stuff only for fiat.

I dont think the intermitent stay locked left side rear door has locked itself up in a little while here (probably do it again tomorrow in spite)
