Had my MW 1.9JTD for 10 days now. Luvit and all the buttons.

Only one 'problem' noticed so far....occasionally in second gear ( and noticed it in 3rd today) when i take my foot off the accelerator it doesn't decellerate fully.....almost as if 'tick-over' is set too high...but its not cos it doesn't do it most of the time.

Anyone had this problem?

Hee heee, isn't that a design feature? I find it very handy in traffic jams. I can drive with my feet up. :p

Same here but for all gears...:D Are you sure that it's a fault? I had the same clutch behaviour with my Opel Astra GSI I had just before and the Lancia Delta HF Turbo I had 10 years ago. It only lasts a second though or even less. So I tend to believe that it is normal... Anyway it's very convenient when you drive fast ;)

I'd be surprised if it isn't a fault....yesterday I was in third gear....took my foot of the accelerator to see if it was still happening and it continued to go along happily at about 10mph. Didn't seem interested in dropping below that.

If it isn't a fault....shouldn't it react like that all the time?

Well mine does do that in every gear. I thought it was just the heavy flywheel on a diesel. I like it tho.

My car was doing that by itself today too, then i realised it was a lead foot of depression! [V] Cheered my up mind how quick the car accelerates for a 1.2 and how sporty it sounds for a 1.2. [}:)]

Live life a little, get a Fiat, pick a Stilo, watch it fail, book it into a arsehole dealership, having no repairs carried out, get an ulcer, suffer depression, get a baseball bat, get f**kin even!!!

I dont thing its a fault ... my friends cars do the exact same things ... still going without the gas pedal pressed ... and do not turn off...

My 1.2 3-door does this first thing in the morning, or when the car is cold. On coming out of my car-park in 2nd, if I don't brake the thing runs away with me. After a few minutes of warm up, its fine.

I've read in the manual that the car will automatically over-rev for a few minutes when cold, in order to warm up the engine in quick-time! That'll therefore affecting your speed if the clutch isn't in :)

Guys, it´s not about the flywheel or anything like that. It´s the e-throttle system. I suggest a test. Stop the car and while at idle, quickly blip the pedal and watch the revs climb. I believe that its the same system preventing the car from stalling too quickly.

True, but trust me, with my driving, it doesn´t help much ;)

i drive a 1.9 jtd and only recently i have finding something similar. When it is ticking over, it sounds like the car is accelerating and deaccelerating on its own. rev counter doesn't move. it is like the car is struggling to tick over [?]
