Just noticed my new Stilo didn't come with the card mentioned in manual. Rang dealer he said UK Fiat's do not come with this card it is kept by Fiat UK on a database.

I do have asticker with a key no. on though.

Is this all correct?

I believe that's how FIAT are doing it now - the keycode you receives is most likely the one for the head unit.

You can obtain a code card from FIAT and depending on the generosity of your dealer it will either be free or somewhere in the region of £7.50. If you want to obtain one, just take your V5 to the dealer and they will order it up for you.

It is worthwhile obtaining the codes as the electronic code is required to be able to start your Stilo if the immobiliser fails.

I contacted Fiat UK recently as I too had just taken delivery of my Stilo. They were adamant that the Dealer/seller should have passed the card onto me. They are sending me one immediately in case I ever have the problem starting it.

If your vehicle is a u.k vehicle they do not come with one. This is taken out as security measure at the import port and sent to N.V.S.R So is required can be obtained via Fiat dealer. It is done like this for uk insurance policys. As remember the code on the card can and will start your car, by passing the immobiliszer.[8D]

I got the same answer as you. Told the codes are held on the Fiat Database. if you call the AA if you have staring problems they also have access to the database. The question is, how many people have access to this database. Sort of destroys the whole security issue if too many people can access it.

I had a sticker stuck on the drivers sun visor that is called Keycode Security, it says made in Portugal by Visteon, has a unit type, serial no. and a 4 figure KEYCODE is this it? I presume there is also a credit card type thing, or should this sticker also have been removed?

That sounds like your stereo code number to me.

Yeah thats the stereo code, i'd peel it off if i were you!

You dont get the card in the UK now, but you can ask your dealer to get it for you! Cost you though, unless you try it on, and say you want them to activate the flashing indicators when you lock/unlock. Might fool them into ordering it for you for nowt!

They obtained it for my one and I didnt ask, I was really wanting the indicators enabled. they didnt mention anything about cost, they just said it would take a few days for us to get the code card so we can enable it. Well they said that after they realised they needed it after plugging the computer into the stilo [:0]

I booked my Stilo (as you'll all know) into Arnold Clark (the one Scorg used) and they said, and i quote "We've got a expert in the garage who knows all about the menu system in the Stilo" (Funny to note as Arnold Clark are both a Fiat and Honda dealer but the "garage" is Honda). But at no point did they say we'll need to charge me for the Code Card. So i'll be expecting it fixed along with the list of other things its in the garage for!

It seems he's forgotten already, the halfwits did fook all to fix my car, still they left their mark.... if the form of many grubby finger prints on the head lining!

Live life a little, get a Fiat, pick a Stilo, watch it fail, book it into a arsehole dealership, having no repairs carried out, get an ulcer, suffer depression, get a baseball bat, get f**kin even!!!
