I took my Stilo to the local dealers (Desira Norwich) today to have its recall done. Whilst it was there I asked the guy behind the service desk to get me a couple of quotes ready for when I came to pick the car up.

1. Fix the Airbag Failure Fault...
2. Put a 12v Socket in the boot.
3. Fit new backbox
&4. Replace the front brake pads.

When going back to collect the car after the recall about an hour and a half later the guy on the front desk gave me a estimate of over 400..

BUT,,,,, when I went to get the car from the car park another guy asked me to go inside to see if he can get me some better quotes..

Turns out he had done a search on here and found my car and said something along the lines of "we've got to look after forum members".. After doing me a second quote with the forum discount it came out at about 260!

Has anyone else had this service

If you use Glyn Hopkins Chadwell Heath, they also issue a forum discount. Speak to Schooweenick, who is the parts manager, and he will help you out. Get a good service from Gly Hopkins too.

Sounds like the forum has a good standing in the trade, I guess a number of forum members actually work at dealership and garages.

I am a regular on a local mountainbike forum and also work in a bike shop, the people that come in that I know are regular contributers to the community do get a closer attention as I tend to know their needs a bit more, it aslo is a sign that they have a little more interest in the subject I find too.

Pehaps its a good idea to mention the forum when speaking to folk at the garage or parts suppliers to see if they recognize the site.

Are there Forum stickers available so that garages know the vehicle belongs to a forum member?

Does anyone know if Autoworld Chsterfield has this facility?
