Hello everyone, first of all, must say what a great site. Yeah I know it sound a bit creepy! Just bought me a 2003 active 5 door and must say I,m well chuffed with it so far. I need a towbar for pulling my trailer tent. I am not up to fitting this myself so any recomendations (Northants) I also want to install a cd changer, now this I would tackle myself as I don't want to pay £299.00 that my Fiat dealer is asking for. Am I right in thinking that the 5 disc Blaupunkt unit is the only suitable one or are there alternatives? I see Halfords have a sony unit at a reasonable price

Hope this link can help

Hi, I will tell you how I got on with having a tow bar fitted. I have had a bar fitted [made by BRINK] so that I can mount a Thule bike rack on the bar and so do away with the straps and slings type carrier which can strain the tailgate mountings. Anyway, if you can find an independent fitter/ installer, go for a bar with a removable ball arm if you can. It’s neater and less likely to cause problems with the reversing sensors picking the arm up in the beam when reversing, and when not needed. Stilo tow bar installation ain’t cheap, I think due to the extra work needed because of the duplex wiring system. [Extra fuses, relays etc] but I would guess no more than £200. My Brava [now no more] installation with electrics cost me £130 August 2003.
As for the radio, again I’d go for getting it done by an independent installer. Also have you thought about changing the radio and going for a package that you can take out before you move on to another car? After ending up with a multi CD player [Grundig] that’s only any good in a Brava /Bravo, I have opted to buy a good system that can be moved on to my next motor when ever that is. Hope this is of some help..;)

Thanks for your advice chaps. I'm going for a detachable towbar and will put the cd on hold for the mo. I understand there is a sony changer on the way that is compatable with the factory fit HU
