hello i have a 1.2 stilo and recently the engine mount came loose and the engine fell to the left and ****ed up the timing by 5 teeth but thats fixed now. but my only problem is now at roughly 3000 rpm i get a really loud knocking or tapping noise from the top of the engine. it goes away over 3000 rpm and below 3000 rpm. it is really annoying and very loud. the car never done this before and the car runs mint apart from that. any ideas?

no they told me the mount had riped from the engine block and temperarily fixed it and i took it to another garage and they had to use heli-coils on the block to get the bolts to stay in their as the treads were ripped out and the top of the mount compressed the pulley at the top of the engine and thats where it skipped 5 teeth

How olds the car? a mount shouldnt fail if its a young un/low miler. Id be ringing fiat uk up by now going nap.

I'm still tempted, with the timeing being out, that something is a miss and the valves are number one culprits- They are the first bits to suffer with timing issues

Im not sure if they are the same but I do understand both a based on the FIRE engine.

Cost is really unkown. In the past I have paid £800 for engine rebuild on a Seat Ibiza after 2 cylinders seized, knackering a lot of the gubbins.

Silly question, whats the oil level like and have you any drips anywhere?
