Hi Guys

Need some help with this one..

Driving along and heard a loud bang -- short story - There is a big hole 6 inches by 2inches ..in the clutch/flywheel housing with bits of metal everywhere inside.. The clutch is screwed anyhow....

Q. What caused this? How hard would it be to replace flywheel/clutch/Housing myself? & likely cost... Im not too bad with a spanner but have never undertaken a clutch...

clutch not to hard i would have thought! fitted clutchs to other cars but the rest wouldnt that mean hole new box housing aswell or not memory a bit vague ( not much help really) good luck mate

It would be very hard to diagnose what has happened without a gearbox out job I would be more concered that whatever has let go in there has buggered up the box its self so first things first get the box out and then tell us what you'v found
