Hi is it true that the metallic black coming on stilo's now is more purpley than black? im hoping it isnt coz blacks the b******s when it comes to most cars!

No, idea about it being purple, my Stilo is Moire Black and it's ok, but it's so metallicy that it doesn't look a deep enough black, go for the solid black if you can, it gets a much deeper mirror like shine when you polish it.

TC is it Pearl? Ive seen an abarth over here (the owner of the fiat dealership has it) and it has pearl effect on the black colour ... its wonderfull ... every angle you get a new colour ...

No, it's just metallic black, but it's not a solid pure black, looks a little charcoal from some angles.

I have a Moire Black Abarth which, when it's clean and viewed in bright sunlight, looks purple. I think it's very nice and a number of people have commented on the colour and how much they liked it.

Moire black hasn't been available for a few months now and I haven't seen the 'new' metallic black but I imagine it's a deeper black (if that makes sense).

Where I live in Kent, the water contains a lot of chalk that makes dark colours a pig to clean - thats the main reason I went for the yellow - its a piece of cake to wash, no need to rag it down afterwards. ohh, and the yellow looks nice too

yellow looks hell good pjp ... but as i can see its not normal 'hurting my eyes' yellow ... its very good one and it suits the stilo

Just to clarify with twincamms the colour code on my Stilo is 841. There's definitely a purple tint. Maybe you should take your shades off and see if that makes a difference[8D]

I have the Moire Black 841 and in "strong" sunlight it has a purple tinge about it, my Bravo was a Metalic Black with a undertone of blue.



The new Metalic Black is just BLACK with no noticable undercolours.

No, you're wrong chaps, the paint code for my so called Moire Black is 632.

Mmmmmm that must be the NEW Metallic Black as thats the number listed in the 2004 booklet Twincamms it's not unlike Fiat to change the shades of certain colours anyway.... they must either run out or forget the mixing instructions j/k

Yep! Mine is March '02. I was told it was the first 3 door Abarth in Northern Ireland.

The metallic black did change even before the '04 model. There was some discussion about this in an earlier thread.
