Drove around for a couple of days last week thinking the washers had frozen in the cold, but after a couple of days I opened the bonnet and found no water in the washer bottle :I I was expecting to get a warning when it was low, are Stilos not equipped with one of these, or is mine faulty [?]

they are not equipped with that kind of sensor ... i havent seen a car that has it but the bloody too expensive bmws might have it.

pjp do you want to tell me that you drive the car for more than 4 months and you havent wasted the water.geee ... i do that every month ... i want my front window as clean as it can be.

My dad's old Volvo 440 has one, its a pain in the plums, go round a corner to quickly and it says your low on screen wash!

I was quite surprised when I ran out of washer liquid because I was expecting a warning first. My Daewoo Nexia has a simbol that lights in the dashboard when almost out of liquid.

Yeah my BMW had it, so did the Vectra before that, and so did the Escort....the Stilo Abarth has almost every toy known to man excepty a washer low warning!

Not all Escorts had them, I had a Ghia Si, which incidentally had heated washers and windscreen too. Ideal for the cold - pitty it handle like s*** in the snow!

Ghia Si, are you sure, Ghia and Si are typically different models!?

I had a LX TDi the top diesel (well top output anyway)... :) And before anyone comments it was plenty quick enough!

Yup, Ghia Si was indeed built for a short while, first time I say one I thought it had been extra badged (much like your own stilo;))

Stilo TURBO!!!!(diesel)

Got an Abarth tax disk holder now James, what do you think? 5bhp extra maybe but only if a pedestrian see's it while i drive past them? ;) All in all its far better than the Arnold Clark one that was fitted and was slowley curling and peeling off the screen! :I

As James said, Ford did produce a Ghia Si - not many of them made, but build quality was superb as they were built in Germany rather than the UK! They were better speced than the Ghia, with nicer trim, extra equipment, gorgeous 5 spoke alloys, stiffer suspension, sports seats, metallic paint, rear spoiler and the 18i 16V Zetec unit as standard.

Not a bad car at the time.:)

And the Opel Astra GSI I had before had a warning message appearing on the computer when the liquid was low.
