right i have a 2002 1.2 stilo its going for the spring recall next week i asked the lady on the service desk about having any ecu updates carried out she priced me 31.00, then siad your cars not gonna need them if theres nothing wrong
is it worth just insisting on having done or what, also will they refuse if it dont need doing

It's your money so take your pick. The best time to ask for ecu updates is when you know your car is going to get connected to Examiner (such as when the service counter is going to be reset or when it's being checked for fault codes etc)

If your car is running fine I would shy away from any update; you may induce a fault by updating your ECU.

My 1.6 ran much better after the ECU update, then again after 6 weeks of poor warmup performance, hunting up and down the rev range on idle and throwing up a spanner message & engine management warning light it's not like I had a choice... don't know if "if it aint broke don't fix it" approach is better in your case bircia :chin:

May be an opportunity for you to get your indicators set to flash when locking and unlocking, if they don't already do so, to maximise the benefit of your ££'s if you do go for the ECU update...

I had my updates adone when they put the service light candle out and bought some bits as well £44 :slayer: and ran so much smoother after wards the tick over is like a rollex :)
