I have one of the almighty :)confused:) Stilo Schumacher's and i want it turbo'd... Does anyone know if this is possible and if so where i an get it done?????

wel here's hoping that i am the first!! dont get me wrong ilove the stilo but it aint fast enough... :(

You can turbo anything if you've got the money, could you not source a 5pot from a coupe turbo?

here's where i pretend i know what im talking about! i know that the fiat coupe is turboable and thought that i could get hold of a turbo off of one of them and fit it to my car? i know i have made that sound simple but what else would i need to do??????????????? :bang:

tell me about it! if i had my way it would be a twin turbo with four wheel drive!! but realisticaly im not a millionaire and that is never going to happen. :)

I know they do a 2.4 conversion to the 20VT but I think it's just increasing the capacity of the 2.0 engine. I'm sure you can turbocharge the stilo's 2.4 5 pot, I reckon you'd be looking at 220BHP with just a low boost setup! However if you are the first then it won't be cheap and will be a lot of trial and error. Surely someone's turbo'd one by now?

a rough guide,you will need
modified sump
modified exhaust manifold
possible 5th injector or probably a change of injectors/fuel pressure
probably a replacement ECU/piggyback fuelling set up
oil cooler
modified induction pipes
obviously a turbo
this is low boost
for high boost you need ot drop compression via low compression pistons or sandwich plate

thats a qhick guide
it may be simpler to mix and match from a coop 20v engine.
eg low comp pistons with the coop head and turbo bits.
assuming they fit

1.6 Dynamic. It costs around 4.500 euros for a turbo and now it delivers 237bhp just think what RX8-Cosmo feels when a Stilo pass them by and they cant even chase it. ;)

Oh Dear! Been there, read the book got the T-shirt and I still aint got a Turbo(n)
Problem is that while the Coop and Abarth are basicaly the same if you take either of them over about 230 bhp your gonna need forged pistons and rods, modified clutch plus all the bits suggested earlier. Nobody will touch the job so far EXCEPT TorqueItalia. They can do anything to a coop and can upgrade the stilo 2.4 to a 450 bhp 430 lbs torque supercar.

Slight problem is the £10,000 price tag. They will do a proper job though rather than a quick fix. Perhaps if we all got together they might do mine for free for passing on the business:p I wish.

Already sent e-mail to see if the 10k covers things like traction or the selespeed. Or even if the gears will take 450 bhp?

Let us know if you find any alternatives but you'll probably be speaking to the same people I did with no progress.

It's all Celtic Tunings fault they suggested the coop change a bit o this and swap that and bobs your uncle 500 porsche beating horses. if only.

Still I'm taking the horses I got and doing a few UK tracks, Nurburg 700 and Euro Enduro 3000 miles:devil: this year so the Turbo will have to wait until these are done then they can revamp what will be a very tyred engine at the same time.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks Athos my friend how many times do I have to put up these pics :D OK one more for the collection :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but thats a 1.6 not a 2.4 and our friends from Greece appear to be saying what everyone else is saying, It Can Be Done. But has anyone done a 2.4 Turbo yet? I was told you'd need the Coupe engine with 2.4 guts to deliver a 2.4 turbo and then the pistons won't take much more than 230 bhp. I don't think the Coupe standard pistons are forged so won't take the high temps?

Of cause I don't do cars any more I just drive them but I have tried Turboing the 2.4 and everyone keeps putting me down. Maybe it's just me being a misserable old fart.

Don't answer that one.

Damn beat me to it ATHOS.
Lesbquick, the guts of the coupe(donor) and the use of the 2.4engine(Receiver) :).

Worst part is the getting someone(WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING) to get coupe ECU settings(Slightly modded)to talk to the 2.4 software.
I know afew other campanys have had big problems with this type of thing.

Then its moddin/swapping other parts to take the extra stress so if you've got a heavy right foot dont bother with this unless u'll want it to be fixing it ALOT.
