Ok replaced my oil about 9k miles ago with fully synthetic oil after the car drinking the oil that was put in it on the service before i got it. Car drank all of the oil and i was running on no oil for about a day!! Thankfully i managed to scrape together money for oil "was un-employed at the time" and put the oil in. Now the cars coming up saying stop engine low oil pressure everytime i corner which it did when it first drank the oil. This time it's been only about 4k miles! Wat the hell is going on with it?

Car needs a service but skint due to trying to clear bak payments but even at that it still sldn't drink fully synthetic oil which is meant to last about 12 - 20k miles? Hopefully it's nothing serious as am seriously skint owe money here and their and also need new tyres and the service

Nope it aint leaking, my driveway has stones so i wld see it, and where i park it at work is the same spot everyday and no oil drops on the ground either

In that case you must be burning it. Much sign of smoke from the rear?

You might have general engine wear or something more serious like a broken ring. What grade of synthetic are you using?

Nope no oil burning either, dunno wat grades are for oil. 5w30 mean anything? It said fully synthetic on it. and at 20k how can i have general engine wear? that wld mean it started to wear after i got the car at 7750

You've already said you nearly ran out of oil - that alone could cause massive engine wear/damage.

It sounds to me (at best) that your engine doesn't get on with the oil you're using. You might be better moving to a 5W-40 semi. (check the specs either way)

Can u see oil in the cooling fluid(paraflu)? I've seen it a lot in VW engines.
You could have a leak to the cooling circuit.

If it's a leak to the cooling circuit tho would it not make the car over heat?

No. The cooling fluid is there and cooling the engine. About 10 year ago i add a Uno 75 SX and lost all of the oil on a motorway (The mechanical didn't put the cap correctly after changing it:bang: ) and the car didn't overheated, just fried the engine after 100Km.

I'm on my 2nd stilo now. I change the oil every 20.000Km according to the manual. Never had a oil problem. The oil now has about 17.000Km and is filled to the top.(y)

I had this problem not to long ago

I had my rad replaced as i was using water somewhere and later found out it was evaperating in the bottom engine covers so there was no leaks on the floor under the car. I was using oil before i had the rad changed butr since then (touch wood) that it has been running spot on

fiat claims that normal parameters for oil consumption are around 1 litre per thousand miles!! expensive when i'm using magnatec and doing about 2k a month!! its just a characteristic of some fiat engines. :(

2k miles a month, i do about 1k miles a week so it's expensive for me aswell, am throwing some more dosh at the car bringing it bak to it's former glory to get me thro till mid next year till i can get rid and get something decent and that doesn't wear a Fiat badge
