Hi all.

I'm having mega suspension problems with my Multiwagon 1.9 JTD which all point to the known rear axle problem of pre-03 models. Out of warranty of course ( but I am looking for 'ammunition' to use against the selling dealership in a possibly futile attempt to avoid paying the grand needed to replace the complete rear axle.

I am real curious to find out about two 'brands' I have found in the material under the sparewheel cover. One is - B270 with the Fiat logo. The other is the letters SF WD in brackets and below them 12 03. The 3 of the 03 is missaligned as if it is a changeable date stamp - like you might have on a desk.

The interesting ?? thing is that if it is a date stamp this is 7 months after the car was first registered at DVLC

Anybody any ideas??

Thanks
rogwil

It is now possible to replace the bushes (selen blocks??) on the rear axle, so it is no longer necesary to replace the entire rack. Fiat has isued them as original spares and cost cca. 20 eur. (y)
