Ordered my 5dr 1.4 Active today, one thing that has just occured to me is I forgot to request no dealer window stickers. Is this something you need to tell them? Also dealers don't still stick their own metal badges on cars do they?

Thanks

Reading the brochure, then the website, there seem to be some differences to what the dealer told me today...he said that the 1.4 Active (2004) comes as standard with body coloured mirrors. Also body coloured side moulding and bumpers with no black inserts.

Yet the website says the 1.4 Active comes with body coloured bumpers with black inserts and coloured mirros are only standard on dynamic upwards.

Whose right?

I think the coloured mirrors etc is only applicable to the five door version.

The spec is all over the place with these cars, I reckon the Italian workforce are ok in the early hours of their shift, then they have their lunch, have a glass or two too much vino and the spec sheets go out of the window, they add or miss what they want!:D

FIAT Stilo Sport. Pretty Much Bog Standard Really. Rear Roof Spoiler,
Sill Protectors, Aluminium Foot Pedals, Eibach 30mm Drop Springs.

FIAT are not the only one to have very different specs for their cars.As much as i know FORD does the same to his cars although FORDs specs are more scrumbled than FIATs one.

But I cannot see how some people does not have spare tyre supplied in their cars or something else.its really shame and big MINUS for FIAT.[8D]

Rang a few dealers all confirmed the colour coded mirros are now standard on all Stilos....we shall see!

If I were you, I'd pin my dealer down on any items which you think are essential, then if the car is delivered with say black mirrors, you can refuse to take it unless he sorts them.

But really it depends how bothered you are about these items, how much you want (or need?) the car in a hurry and how good of a deal you are getting.

Hope you did get a good deal btw, and I'm sure when the car arrives you will be very happy;)

Stilo looks better with a few non-colour coded parts anyway i think! Abarth looks a bit too much like a blamanche all the same colour! The black rub strips, handles and mirrors give the car that final character the car needs.

2003 3 Door Stilo 1.2 Active, Sassy Grey, 5 disc CD Changer, plastic wheel trims - and 41.7mpg average so far. Love it, Oh yes!

Stiloboy, I agree about the black side/bumper strips, they look better, break the car up a bit, the c/coded abarth ones look a little like one of those nova types has gone mad with the spray can (IMO:D)

But I do love my handle and mirrors colour coded:D

Fiat UK sent me a Feb 04 price list today which said the Active comes with black mirrors and black inserts/side bars. Rang the dealer and asked what the car he has is & he confirmed its an Active, told him what my brochure said & he said must be a Dynamic then!! Pointed out Dynamic has colour door handles & his has black! I am not actually bothered what mirrors/sides I get, but I wish someone knew what they were doing!

A typical example is the Panda. My friend came with me to the garage when I ordered my Sporting a couple of weeks ago. He has a Mk2 Active Sport but decided he liked the Panda enough to buy one. The Eleganza in the brochure has spot lights but the one in the showroom didn't. So his Gingo (so glad they changed there minds and called it Panda) turned up on Monday without any spotlights. My mate (head salesman) has told him that he will have to wait until Fiat decide whether they are standard fit or extra's, the wiring is all there so he just has to take it in and they will fit them if Fiat decide they are standard.

I had a chat with my mate the other night about this type of thing, and it seems it's the same old story. There are enough get out clauses in the brochure and on the website for them not to be worried in the slightest. He says they regularly get new brochures, usually 1 or 2 new versions per month.

Twincamms, my mate says the very same thing about Italians and vino. He's had cars turn up with a dynamic badge on one side and an Active badge on the other....cars with no badges.... cars with no spacesaver wheel....even a car with no rear seat!!!

now: 1.2 Stilo Active in Black
v soon: new shape 1.4 Punto Sporting in Broom (with Imola door handles and wing mirrors. Doh!!!)

I thought Sassy Grey would be pretty much colour coded with the grey trim - does that mean your driving a blancmange too ??
