From the very beginning, number on my total kilometers is twinkling! Now I have almost 10000 km, it's still twinkling, but I'm used on that.
My dealer told me that there is no any help for that, nobody knows what's happening. Electronic test is ok. They said it will stop after first servis alarm ... maybe.
Does anybody knows what's going on? Is that unofficial changing of mileage? :D

Thanks in advance.

This indicates a malfunction of the CAN-communication between the body computer and one or more other CAN-nodes. At key-on the bodycomputer checks if it's factory configuration matches with the replies of the other nodes . If everything is o.k after 4 seconds the display shows "check o.k." - otherwise the display starts blinking to show there are nodes missing / not replying / showing wrong configuration etc.
Your dealer should perform the "Proxi Realignment " procedure to align the body computer configuration with the other CAN nodes.
It seems your dealer is not very competent giving such an answer......

Gert

Thanks Gerd,
I shall try with some other oficial dealer. Everything is working, except phone button on wheel, but I don't belive it's a problem.
Who knows what is connected on CAN ....

It's still twinkling ...
But I changed a small electronic plate in wheel, and I got all buttons on wheel working! ;) One node less for examining.
During checking (before start) some error in fuel level is displayed and after that is everything good, except blinking. My fuel level works, minimum light too.
One node is still making problems. :(
How to find this node for fuel level? Where is this plate?

God damn it why have you got the twinkling and we dont ..thats just not fair :( errrm what is the twinkling :)

my mileage flashed at me once after i had the battery case out, and i thought it was game over, but by that night and before i could post on here it stopped doing it and never started again, which people on here said is impossible, but honestly, it did do it then stopped!

Take it please, I wont be angry!
Twinkling problem is described above from first post. Taht's one of very clever Stilo options!

You most likely need a proxi alignment as mentioned before to stop the flashing total km display. Nodes are probably out of synch. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few hours?

Fuel level sensor warning is common when very low on fuel and just states the sensor is producing an unacceptable readout, that is beyond it's set min and max output. If it disappears when you put in more fuel then I wouldn't worry about it. Mine does it too at times

Thanks Deckchair,
I'm mainly on LPG and fuel level is less then quarter, it cud be that. Happens sometimes. Alignment didn't pass completely last time because of:
- buttons problem, now solved (electronic plate in wheel)
- back windows from drivers side, solved (wires)
- fuel level error, I'll try with more fuel.
Before alignment, maybe battery disconnecting will help, thanks for advice.

Muki,

I run on lpg and have had some problems with the engine management light coming on. Usually when the gas starts to run low. I have a 61l tank that holds approx 55l but it doesn't like having less than 7l in the tank before the light comes on as fuel starts to run lean. Does it happen all the time or only when lpg is low?

Steve

No Steve, it doesn't!
I cud be a problem with different gas quality in winter and summer: more C3 in winter. This relation (C3 - C4) changes during year in big tanks and it's not a constant. This may turn on engine management light for bad fuel or vacuum in inlet, or something ... but temporary.
Usually light comes on in beginning of autumn and spring, when they change a gas ratio in LPG. I have U480 small code reader (y) and I turn it off, it's better than in FIAT garage! If it doesn't come back again, everything is ok.

My mileage is still twinkling, but it shows that testing is now OK. Maybe it should be erased by examiner after repairs:
- new electronic plate in wheel (buttons)
- back windows wires connected
- enough fuel in tank -:)

if the steering wheel node is fitted afterwards you will have to connect it to a delay circuit because the body computer recognises it as a foreign node on the CAN-network.
After te 4-seconds check you can connect the steering wheel node without the blinking of the mileage-display.

Thanks, but I already have wheel buttons from the beginning, it cud not be foreign node. Only if they forget ...
Probably I need new alignment because this electronic was broken, I'll do it next time when will do service reset.

Right driving my car to the mechcanic yesterday i noticed that my mileage was flashing, Does this mean i need a proxi alignment or is it because the battery was really flat and i had to pull start it.
I am just hoping its because the battery was really flat and it will be ok after engine transplant.
