I Had To Whinge At FIAT UK!!!

So here it is below is my email to them and their response!

Hello

I purchased a new Fiat Stilo 1.6 Active sport 8 months ago.

I was a little unhappy with some of the specs on this car so I have
since changed them via my Fiat dealer.

I had the rubbish 15 inch alloys changed for the 16 inch alloys, this
cost me 400, I bought a set of Stilo mats as they weren't provided
with
the car, they cost me 30, I replaced the foot pedals with the Fiat
aluminium set, these cost me 38, I've added the aluminium door sill
protectors costing 40 and also had an original Fiat rear roof
spoiler
added.

I've today noticed on your web-site that the same car now gets 17 inch
alloys as standard, a rear roof spoiler as standard and side skirts as
standard. You people at Fiat too have realised that the car was a
little naked then?

It is my intention to buy the side skirts for my Stilo next, do you
think I could be offered a discount on these from Fiat as I have spent
a
lot of money on a car that I purchased from you eight months ago only
to
find that you are selling it at a much higher specification just a
short
time on. I find this most annoying.

I'd like a reply on this matter as I have emailed on many occassions
only to be ignored by yourselves, if an answer is not received I will
pass on all of the emails and two paper letters that I sent to you to
your head office in Italy, perhaps they may answer my
queries/complaints.

I look forward to your response at your earliest possible convenience.

Dear Mr X,

Thank you for your enquiry on our website.

Unfortunately in this department, we can not deal with your request.

I would advise you to go back to the dealer where you have bought all your accessories and put your request to him as you have been such an excellent customer .

I am sure you realise that all cars have facelifts that change the extras on them and it is always unfortunate when the new models come out for anyone who has already purchased them.

I hope you get some satisfaction from your dealer.

Best Regards

Sounds fair really, they are not in the business to make friends they are in the business to sell NEW cars... :I So that would be why they release new updates so often and then want you to buy that new car, not buy some cheap plastic bits that will make your car look like the new model for a fraction of the cost!

If you want a bespoke model that won't change 15 minutes after you buy it, buy an AMG or Brabus Merc...

2003 3 Door Stilo 1.2 Active, Sassy Grey, 5 disc CD Changer, plastic wheel trims - and 41.7mpg average so far. Love it, Oh yes!

I'm always trying with FIAT, their after-service is so shoddy that you have to try to extract ANY thing you can from them.

I love their cars but hate their dealerships a general attitude to their customers, they should realise that we matter, mind you this is reflected in the sale figures for the Stilo, if they had good back up and after-sales people might be tempted to buy them, sticking a few extras or plastic bits on them won't work!

As I said, I'll keep breaking their balls, they'll get fed up of me in the end, I'm still waiting for them to resolve a paint discrepancy on my car that I reported two weeks after purchasing it, they just pass the buck around and no one has any idea who is going to fix the problem.

Sorry, rant over!

yeah maybe so but they could have contacted the dealer on his behalf and not just washed there hands of it,an example of my dealings with creative i returned my speaker set up (6.1 surround approx value 70) as i had a problem with them leaving marks, these were collected by creative and in return i got the megaworks 7.1's (value 330[:0]) and a pair of stands (40) for speakers that came as part of a PC package now i know its not a direct comparison but its an example that sometimes a gesture of good customer service goes a long way as you can see by this posting on the forum

I can't get a response on my ASR light problem from contact at Fiat (from the website). They were shi*e when the boot light was missing from my Seicento but my dealer came up trumps with that.

Here is the terrific response I had from my local dealer Stoneacre FIAT!

Dear Mr X

Thank you for your recent letter which I recieved this morning.

I can offer you a 10% discount on the side skirt kit (Part # 50900668) and
also on the adhesive kit which you will need to fit the skirts (Part #
5908061).

The total cost to you, inclusive of VAT will be 167.02.

Unfortunately I am unable to give you any discount on fitting, as we do not
have our own bodyshop. This means that the prices are not regulated by
ourselves.

As we do not stock these items I will have to order them in. As you know
this should take two working days.

If you do decide to order these parts, plese reply to this e-mail, or phone
me on 01733 555670.

Many Thanks,

XXXX XXXXX

This is good of them isn't it, particularly as another dealership I made the same enquiry to offered to sell them to me for 130 and that was before I contacted FIAT UK!

Yup, I got offered sideskirts for around 130 too!

It really pisses me off when a dealer risks their future business with you, trying to con you out of a few measly quid! I got ripped of buying my car mats, I was intending to go there for service, but no, they charged me 20 for a set of 13 mats[}:)]

Nice1 Reg Vardy Stockton, I'll be seeing you soon, not:D

Re: I Had To Whinge At FIAT UK!!!

FIAT UK CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT ARE FANTASTIC.

Following 7 months of endless problems with my new Panda Eleganza and my local dealer being no help what so ever. Fiat Uk came up with a substantial sum of money so that I could replace my 2005 05 Panda for a New 55 05 plate Panda.

It took 3 months, but a great gesture. The new car is Fantastic and the dealership where we got it from is very much worthy of the FIAT franchise (Unlike AHF) in Southampton.

Here are just some of the classic lines the Dealer Principal of AHF told me while I had problems with the old car (from day 1 of ownership)

"I didn't make the car I only sold it"
"The exhaust rattle is the heat shield, because it is made from cheap metal"
"Don't worry - the car has a 3 year warranty"
"Don't worry - the car is galvanised"
All of your electrical issues are due to a lose earth connection" WRONG
"I don't need to follow procedures if I want Fiat technical here" WRONG
"I will not take the car back for rejection, nor in part exchange"
Gladly FIAT UK did not share his views.

WELL DONE FIAT UK.

Re: I Had To Whinge At FIAT UK!!!

6 weeks ago Fiat admitted by letter that they had been wrong to charge me 382 to get my car back from the garage when it went in for a warranty repair and that I would receive my cheque within 3 weeks.

It has only taken 2 years to get the fault fixed and 4 months for them to admit their error since getting it fixed.

Guess what ?? I'm still waiting and emails and a letter have gone unanswered.

I suppose they are only being consistent in their "high quality" customer focused service!!!
