The other day I stalled my 2002 Stilo and when I tried to restart I got the error "Car Security Failure" and my car wouldnt start.

I eventually got it to start. What I did was dead lock the car and wait and try and start it. The reason I tried this is that I once locked my keys in the car and the locksmith advised you have to deadlock your car to reset the security.

However this did not work on the first attempt.

I have just got the message again (pretty sure I didnt stall it) I tried to start it after parking it for 30 mins. I messed around with the dead locking trick and eventually it started again.

Does anyone know the definite way to solve this issue.

Is it to do with the dead lock or is it something else?

I had this once or twice on my Stilo (exactly same as yours). It's most likely a mis-communication from the CODE computer.

Try resetting the Body Computer (unplugging the 2-cable grey connector on the body computer for 2 minutes), failing that, ask dealer to check it out.
