Hi all, go easy on me, this is my fist post!
I have traded in my old car (Vectra) for a 53 plate Stlio Abarth Selespeed 3dr in an electric blue colour. Its gorgeous! I have to say, despite Fiat not having the best reputation, the car looks fantastic and the amount of equipment included amazing!

The only thing is, I dont really know what exactly is included! Obviously I know I have the sky roof (How cool is that!) But the likes of the glove cool box, I have no clue! Is there anyway I can get a spec list?

Also, I would like an up to date nav disc, does anyone have any ideas?

Many Thanks for your help!:)

Welcome, first of all do you know that if you keep your finger on the open button on the keyfob both windows and sunroof open :) even at a fair distance.

You sound well pleased with your car so lets see some pictures. Pity about the colour though.

I compared the stilo to the likes of the civic and the focus, and you get so much more for your money! I quite like the colour, its very vibrant, I think the yellow is a little understated! ha ha!

When you choose a Stilo you scream individuality, you chose wisely sir and yes, blue is a nice colour if a little slow. Now don't start towing caravans or youll upset the folks on here.

Thanks for the advise, very impressed with the key fob trick, wil try that as soon as I pick it up (7th Aug). Any other tricks I should know?

Not having an Abarth I ain't too sure about the goodies that come with it but here's a very neat trick that will put you in good stead for the future:-

Don't drink, don't smoke, don't eat cos your gonna need all the money for petrol. Whatever, enjoy and like I said, get some pics up and add yourself to the "how many Stilo's" thread. (at top)

As soon as I pick it up I will add my name to the list! I have heard the economy can be pretty bad, but what the hey, you only live once!

Do all of the abarths come with the cool box glove box or is it an optional extra?

Any Stilo with aircon I believe, I have it too but dont get carried away, cool yes, cold no. Can't believe youre talking about he glove box when you have that sweet sounding engine??

All Stilos have got the heater vent thing in the upper glove box regardless of if you have air con or not, i cant really see how it could work as a cool box as the lid is not sealed in anyway shape or form

It does get cool Matt, ask Alfie, he had a cool beer from me at Stanford courtesy of the cool box 2 hours after setting off.

Oh I agree, thats what made me buy it, as soon as I turned the key! The gadgets are good, but that growl really makes sure people know your around! :D

unlucky on the colour, you know "once you go black you never go back".

course i'll have to start sampling more black things ...

People are just SOOOOO possessive about their colours :D The more passionate you are about it, the more disagreement you will get!
Of course, we all know that Darkest Purple Metallic is the BEST... ;)

Anyway great choice jamiev, welcome to the forum! You'll have fun getting used to the Selespeed - it's neither a manual nor an automatic, but definitely closer to the manual. 'AUTO' mode is ridiculous - feels like a blindfolded passenger is doing the gearchanging, but even in 'MANUAL' mode, there is some degree of automation as you slow down: it selects lower gears automatically without bumps or lurches.

I really like the way it removes the need to change down when manouevring in town, yet when you want to hear that engine growl, it gives you that manual control. And finally, a FIAT with no stubborn synchromesh and no criticism of the gearlever feel ;)

Don't forget the all-singing, all-dancing sat-nav stereo with voice activation ("Play CD" or is it "CD Play", I can never remember), the trip computer with dual trip meters for infinite comparisons-per-journey, the reversing sensors, the ASR with ESP, the ABS with EBD... there's lots to learn about! Just don't try to use high-beam with the lights on 'automatic' (you can't), and having worked this out, make sure you turn the switch QUICKLY all the way away from you, past the 'sidelights' position, otherwise you lose all the lights for a couple of terrifying seconds (on dark country roads...)

Try to get the handbook with the car, if at all possible.

Totally agree - and this is one reason why I don't use AUTO lights any more on the Stilo [the Ulysse ones are on AUTO 100% of the time, and you can go to full beam].

I've come to the conclusion they'll be very useful in the Alps, Madeira, Sicily, certain parts of France or any country with lots of tunnels!

The other thing you come to learn, as a new Stilo owner, is just how great the sidelights look at dusk (took me two weeks) which is another reason for keeping on manual :)
