General Benfield Motor Group Complaint about Fiat Stilo, 2002

Well I will try to explain to attempt to clear this matter up once and for all, FIAT customer services would not help me with outstanding items on-going since 2002, warranty items now elapsed, so I said whilst looking for as much information as possible for recalls, any Stilo recurrent problems, servicing schedules, to check the air con, since apparently it does not come under servicing schedules? And the 5 panel sunroof. Whilst gathering information to help my case, and by looking at the complaints by other STILO FIAT owners I fell across this FIAT FORUM. I merely suggested that they should pay more interest to this forum, so they could be better, to rectify their vehicles faults. And when I spoke to the manager of BENFIELD of Newcastle I said exactly the same, HE ARRANGE TO SEE ME AFTER I SENT A LETTER I DID NOT EXPECT TO MEET HIM FACE TO FACE. Anyway I said manay amny things and one was he should check the fiat forums out, since according to him for me to complain was unusual, he was wanting to show me records of his customers that were very happy, I simply declined, I was NOT interested, would this help me? He simply said his garage has an very good or impeccable record of customer satisfaction, I DID NOT SHOW him or HAND OVER ANY documents for the manager to copy? I did not expose or give him names, nicknames, or anything.
I DID NOT give him the name the website’s forum address, I have done nothing wrong, merely tried to salvage a very poor outcome for me? I don’t know, this is a OPEN FORUM, any one can look or join, I am sure Fiat Benfield motors would check out the FIAT FORUM etc put two and two together since after all HE knows who has purchased or not purchased a FIAT ARBARTH, STILO, it’s his job, that’s how he sells cars, never underestimate a car salesman, they are sharp, it’s their bread and butter. THE FIAT FORUM(S) DO WORK SINCE DEALERSHIPS DO READ FOR LEADS ETC, AND WE ALL KNOW BY LOOKING AT POSTINGS THAT WORKERS OF ALL DEALERSHIPS ARE MEMBERS TOO, THEY DO STATE THIS FACT!
I AM VERY CONFUSED WHY SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT BUYING A FIAT ARBATH PUBLICLY STATES HE HAS HAVING A RE-THINK, AFTER READING JUST MY POSTING? HOW COULD I POSSIBLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOMEONE ELSES ACTIONS? TO BUY A CAR ON FRIDAY, SIGN THE PAPERS HAND OVER A MONETARY OR EXCHANGE VALUE, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF FINANCE HAD BEEN REFUSED WOULD I BE ALSO RESPONSIBLE? WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE? TO DECIDE TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY INITALY A VEHIVLE SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. TO HAVE A COOLING OFF PERIOD TO CHANGE YOUR MIND IS SENSIBLE. MY POSTING IS JUST ONE OF THOUSANDS ON THE FORUM AND WORLD-WIDE WEB OPEN TO ALL TO USE ME AS A INFLIENCE TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY IS HIS OWN FINAL DECISION.

Ok ok, the full story please!

So the thread OP makes a valid complaint, about a dealership in question, due to the way he was treated.

So then YOU read this thread, and then get a bit worried about the dealership EVEN though at that stage you weren't prepared to buy anything [your words].

BUT then you struck a deal  knowing the above - and then decided you do want your money back after all?! Why? Because of what the OP said about you to the dealership?

AND NOW you are threatening court action because of defamation of character?

Mate, if I was in your shoes I would use everything at my disposal to get a result including posts from this forum if necessary.

In fact, I would create an alias and create a similar situation as to what we have here to show the dealer how bad publicity can work against them.

Sorry mods for suggesting the alias bit!!

Hello Maz what car do you drive then as you work for fiat hope you're gonna say a stilo ;)

I've run all sorts, from Pandas to Cromas.

Had Stilo diesels quite often, currently got a Grande Punto Dynamic Diesel.

Hi, Great Site By the Way!:)

Just thought I would mention, I paid good money for a service at Benfield(n) on my three year old Fiat Punto 1.2 active, when I picked up the car they said there was no time to do the minor faults on my list?
They asked me at reception in the morning to tell them? So I said why not? The service manager was not nice to me he was insensitive to me he said we need to book the car in again to order the parts? I said no one rang me? What a waste of time they took my money they had my car all day, I went to Halfords with my Dad he put on the washer motor and wipers.
