Hi folks ...newbie question here.

I'm about to have a look at a used Stilo Multiwagon. It is advertised as the 80 bhp version of the JTD engine.

Besides the fact that it is only 80 bhp and will therefore be slow (something that I'm prepared to live with as on 90% of my daily travel across country lanes there are 40/50 mph limits anyway) is this the same engine as the 115 bhp only mapped differently? Or is it a totally different animal mechanically / componentwise?

Has anybody on this board got any experiences with this engine?

The 115 has an intercooler but 80 does not. Dont know if the engine or turbo is different.

The 80bhp can be remapped - Vimto [iirc] did his, and made it a lot more driveable.

The 115JTD has a turbo with variable geometry and the 80JTD has a turbo with fixed geometry.

as santa said, i think they both have intercoolers :chin: it's just the turbo thats different.

So it would be safe to assume that underneath they both are the same tried and tested engine ...good to know.

no intercooler to besides the difference to the torbo and mapping
