hello

I have a blaupunkt CD changer in my stilo, the one in the glove box. I put brand new cd's in and it some times plays them. but most of the time it tells me to check disk, or just dose nothing. apart form flash all the number lights on the unit red and green. when it start to do this I can not eject the cd's. It is driving me up the wall. Any one got any ideas how to fix it, thanks

Re: blaupunkt cd changer stops working

mine does that , i do this when the chgr does that . with the head unit saying check disc take key out of ign , open drivers door , but stay sat in car then shut , wait for chgr lights to stop flashing , put key back in ign and turn on head unit to play a disc you should hear the changer working away and resetting its self , it should then play a disc , hope that helps , its not as bad as what it sounds

Re: blaupunkt cd changer stops working

I get this too. I'll try the whole open door, close and turn on, but I've done similar and it doesn't seem to work. I've taken all the disks out (using tweezers/pliers) but now it says check disk 1 when the only disk is in slot 2 now.

It seems to me I need a way to reset it by pulling the power on it. Is there a way to do that? Is there a specific fuse I can pull out?

Thanks for any help.

Hi all,

i have got a 52 plate stilo abarth with that CD changer in the glove box. Now has anyone had the same problem with theres like i do with mine. If i listen to music from DISC tray 1,2,3 it works fine, but if i want to listen to a cd frm tray 4 or 5 then it does nothing. It changes to that disc but then the player just freezes. i have to turn the ignition off and the on again. this is such a pain on the ass. anybody know how to reslove it, cos i aint payin no money to those rip off fiat dealers. Thannnnnnnnnnnnkssssssss

I also have had this problem and it got worse driving up to aberdeen with two kids in back and traffic jam in front of me and no signal on radio apart from F**king GODFM, I now only use cd1 and make sure its a good cd. I have heard it costs £90 to get it re-aligned and that solves it so thats what I am going to try.

(n) Yep, cost me 90 quid to get it realigned and 'cleaned' been Ok since through, think problems start if you rush CD changes as said in previous post and 'confuse' it:idea:

Alright saying 'Dustbin' for it but nothing else compatible with standard head unit and swopping means no display on dash and fiddly little multifunction buttons on after market stuff

Not sure if this is the cause of everybodys CD changer problems, but when mine started to do it I took the top cover off. Inside there was a small white cog with very fine teeth on it. Over it's life time (i bought it when it was 3 years old) the teeth have become warn and as a result, any requests for CD's after positions 1,2 & 3 cause it too much stress and the cog just spins almost freely. It only catches every now and then, hence the reason why it works sometimes and not others. I believe that this cog assists with the movement of the CD tray between the different slots.
I took a pic of it with the intention of buying or finding another cog to replace it. So far i haven't got around to it. If anyone want's me to post a pic of the offending cog to assist with fixing theirs, let me know and ill have a look for it.

Mark.

Mine does this on occasions, I just press the setup key 4 times in quick succession which will put the unit into a reboot this cures the problem.

I have the connect+ which does have a setup button I don't know if the normal radio cassette has a setup button.

I also ahve this cd changer problem, luckily it is under warranty although the dealer didnt kno about the secret glove box or the CDC, when i found out it wasn't working i took it back, an audio technician showed me waht was wrong, the drive couldnt go up and down smoothly due to faulty coils at the bottom catchin.
should get it back soon, (y) :slayer:

could you tell me what cd changers you are using with the normal head unit for a radio/cassete player on a stilo?
