General Opinion of car polish!s

Yes, there is no need to polish a new car because it's polished in the factory after painting and it's conserved while travveling. I used SONAX on my car and it did the job very well.

I polish my car about once every three months and wash it (with a good wash n wax followed by a bucket of demon shine) every week or so. The best polish to use regularly in my opinion is turtle wax colour magic to match the colour of your car. It's the biz. For scratches or if you haven't polished it for a while, start with T cut coulour fast but don't rub too hard. Autoglym is not bad but is a bit powdery. Autoglym hi gloss is good to finish with if you're a perfectionist!

I try to use a wax rather than a polish. A polish is an abrasive and too much polishing (albeit an awful lot) will eventually eat into your paint. IMHO it's best to wax your car every so often and this will get it back to it's factory look.

The best stuff I've come accross is Swissol or Zymol (largely the same products as the formula was developed by the same guy). www.zymol.co.uk and www.swissol.co.uk.

I have a swissol pack and it is very expensive (starter pack is about £110 the wax alone is about £70 but it's top top quality stuff some of the best you can get and it does last for ages).

I wash with Turtlewax car shampoo and finish with Williams Showroom Car Finish, it's easy, fast and it gleams. It doesn't bead like a wax but it's about a million times less laborious!

Does that Demon Shine stuff really work?

Right so i won't give it a "proper" polish for a few months then, i have used Demon Shine and i'll probably use that until the weather starts to fair up, then give the car a good going over with Simoniz. Its the best around i've found, proper car wax, so kind and gentle you can even use it on your furniture! :)

Does Demon Shine give a protecting beading effect?

My son did mine with Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax yesterday, it looks well.

Simoniz wax is 100% caranauba wax, i think Meguiars is a mix. Its ace stuff though, proper wax old stylee! Kills you to polish it up properly, but you hardly ever have to polish it!

When I bought the Stilo I purchased Amazing Glaze and spent about four hours treating every panel on the car, but it still gets dirty and still needs washing and yes, I still polish it!

Here's the website, give it a go!
