Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself.
Colin, from Dublin, Ireland. Been looking at the site for a while now. Very helpfull even if I don't get the problems fixed I know there are loads of others out there with the same. Love the Abarth. Had it 2 mths. Low miles, low pice had to buy it.

Things I've done so far...

Fitted the passenger OCS sensor just to **** my local dealer off. He wanted to get in in for hours of labour charges. I fitted it fine and airbag light went off without being reset. Just have to get an upholsterer to tighten leather over seats as its a bit baggy on side bolsters. Has anyone else noticed that the new type seat base comes with a velcro type seam attachment as opposed to steel rails inset in the squab with rings to attach leather?

Brake pads all round (OE), no squeals with these for the guy who bought spurious ones. Did not enjoy fitting the rear ones:bang: . Anti clockwise wind back is a pain(n) .

Spark plugs. OE again. Easy peasy fit as you all know. Love all the clicking connectors.

New tyres. Wanted to get some 18" super turismos like ones on GP Kit model but have to fix some problems with electric which I think will cost alot so bought some cheapish "Silverstones" to fit the standard 16" wheels. Good grip. Nice thread design etc. They would be a better tyre than the current suspension can handle.

Air filter. Just fitted one this evening. Undercar access a bit of a pain when you dont have axle stands or ramp, but got it in easy once undertray off.

New mats, ordered the so called "Abarth" ones from fiat dealer. Was told they would have Abarth badge on them. They ordered them from fiat uk, and standard "STILO" ones arrived labled with the part code for abarth ones. Do Abarth badged ones exist?

O/s door frame panel. Was chipped so I replaced it.

Anyway enough boring stuff, this is what I plan to do.

The Schumacher model is not available here but I would like to make some similar changes to mine

18" OZ super turismos?
GP kit suspension, The codes for these are on Fiats system here even though the car not available so I am trying to order this at he moment. The car is way way to soft.

Air Filter, Like the carbon ones you guys seem to rate. Would like to get the back box off the Gp kit model too.

Fix Sat Nav, it has not worked since I got car. Picks up no satalites. I think ariel base has been done already. Don't know where to go from here. Disconnected it for an hour (from battery) but to no avail. Got rid of a recurring alarm fault though!:)

Duel Zone Air con- It dont work either. Might just have to get the fluid filled up again. Are these problematic too?

So, look forward to wrecking your heads soon with many queries, hope I can help too with any of yours.

Hey Dublin

Congratulations on getting a decent car! It's great to see new members when we've lost a few - don't forget to add yourself onto the "How Many Stilos" list in this sub-forum!

Right, lets go through your list. Sat Nav; there are some active threads on this. We've been posting here https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-technical/55815-faulty-connect-nav.html with ideas.

Dual Zone Climate; one assumes you mean it's just not cold as opposed to completely not working? If so, then it'll probably need a recharge; your car is at that sort of age now where it needs regassing.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the forum, don't forget to get some nice pics in your gallery too! (y)

ooh, you got the sky roof, thats the one thing (apart from relaibility!) i wish i got with mine!

good luck and happy motoring (i'm being nice as you sound like you know what your talking about so i can ask for advice :D)

Just put the 18" OZ Shumacher alloys on my stilo at the weekend. They look so good!:) I like your to-do list!

I'd love to see some pics of those wheels. Thats a rare colour in the Stilo you have. Sprint Blue? My old Punto Sporting was the same colour. Loved it.

Thanks all above for the replies. Will try to update the gallery soon.

Items done today...

Taxed car. 851 euro for 12 mths. You guys have it easy in the UK.

Washed car. Polished car. Stared at car.. . for ages:p

Here they are. Really pleased with them! Cant believe i got them with tyres for £450!! Good deal eh? They are missing the centre caps unfortunatly and Im really struggling to get hold of the original Fiat ones!

What do you think?

What sort of writing do you mean Rob? I know if you buy a set of OZ Turismo's (I think they're called that ), they have "OZ Racing" written in black; when FIAT got them for the Schumi, they spec'd them to be plain, so they look more authentic FIAT.

Matronslovepuppy, you might be unlucky sourcing them; they may have been produced only for the number of Alloy sets. Try phoning OZ direct as it may be them who supply the caps and not FIAT.

Welcome to the forum mate.(y)
Glad to hear your brakes aren't squealing like mine were!
You've got a nice car there.

rroope, 1.8Stilo: thanks for the comments. As far as i am aware, they are the OZ superturismo wheels but the shumi ones come without the writing in the middle as rroope says. Attached a closeup of the wheels on the shumi. No writing on them. Much nicer without the writing i think. Can also see the centre cap.

1.8: yeah it is a bit 4x4. think its not quite so bad now as the springs have settled a bit. I took the pic as soon as i got back from the garage. Thinkin about new springs now tho.

Headlamp washers are fitted, don't think they were available without Xenon's in the UK; and the lens looks different too!

And yeah MLP, I agree; looks better without the writing. Good luck with getting the caps; they're not on ePER, so best to enquire with OZ or FIAT (they could try phoning the importers in Bristol as I did years ago when I wanted a "Dynamic" badge when the Stilo was only a year old!).

They are Xenon's but I don't have the headlamp washers. (unless I havent noticed them) If i did have them, how would I activate them? Do they just work when the windscreen ones work?

Cheers for the advice on centre caps. Will give them a call today.

The caps on top of the bumper are the headlight washers. They activate automatically when the headlights are on and you activate the front screenwash jets by pulling the wiper stick forward.
