Hey Folks

After many months (in fact, practically a lifetime!) of trouble free Stilo motoring, an electric glitch has reared its ugly head. It's a strange one.

Using the drivers control panel, if you tell the passenger window to go down it will. Then, try get it to go up? No way! Push the up button and it'll go down, down button will go down, it's going down down down!

Now theories; electric window switch pack? Drivers door node? If you use the switches on the passenger door it works fine.

Bearing in mind I've installed the new dash, and it hasn't happened before (and hasn't happened in a few days), I was wondering whether having it proxi-realigned messed it up?

Any ideas . . . 3 months warranty left is all my concern!

Proxi-alignment wouldnt mess it up.....proxy alignment simply 'sychronizes' all the modes internal clocks so to speak.
First impressions are door node/switch fault, examiner can operate the windows remotely so i'd get to back to dealer before warranty runs out.

Thanks T, yeah Phil I did debate whether to post it as I was pretty sure what to do, but now T has inputted I'm feelin better about my diagnosis!

I think I may swap the window switch packs between the two Stilo's and see what happens then. . .

You are in a unique situation there Rroope because you have your very own spares dept there with the other stilos in your house hold :)

Lol indeed, if my mum would let me (although I could do it whilst at work) I could swap the nodes over and see if the fault goes with it . . . would mean taking 2 door trims off though.

Need to 'proxy' the node but it would prove the point if the node was faulty or not;)

Ah ok . . . I think I'll just let the dealer do it. I want that diesel noise looked at too, I'm so sure it's the variator on its way out . . .

Hmm.. not quite the same, but for ages i had a problem with the electric mirror controls, similar things, they were like mirrors possessed...

I took it apart, and dried the connections off and it worked, a week or so later, i made the mistake of washing my windscreen with the window open, and in rushed the water, and lo and behold, the mirrors were playing up again...

Obviously, I can't say for certain that the leaked in water was causing the problem, but drying that water away again fixed the problem...

Thanks guys . . . just been out in the car again and it wasn't playing up, maybe the switches got wet sometime and messed up? Strange
