Just been doing a search for threads on bad radio reception and there are a few but i cant seem to find anyone thats actually come up with a solution yet other than loose connections...
Mines been crap since the day we had it which is now about 2 1/2 yrs.. the steelership 'muck annics' have tried everything so they say but its still no better..

Is their a reckonised fault that causes this or is it just one of those things ?
I'd like to try and get it sorted before the 3rd yr warranty runs out..

Mine went pants in my 1.2. i wasnt running the standard HU but a kenwood with better reception (the fiat one wasnt a good reception).

This i thought was strange, going from so good to pants so quick.

I whipped out the HU and the ariel connect wouldnt stay on the back of the kenwood male adaptor. in the stilo socket theres is a little black plastic prong, about 4 milli, and this had come off. after some playing around i found that for reasons unknown, if it didnt fit into where it came from or wasnt there, poor to no radio.

I just lopped off the stilo plug and soldered a male plug on- no more problems

your car radio has an amplyfyer fitted between the ariel coaxel and ariel base iv seen them not conected properly if ok must be at fault.

Thanks guys, is the head unit easy enough to get out ?
