my outside temparature display on my stilo always seems to be wrong, an example for you, today a nice sunny day probably 15 degrees C at least my guess, what does the dash say? 7!?! cant understand why it can be so far out! does anyone know where the sensor is and does it just need cleaning or will i need to get a new one? cheers!

I think I'm correct in saying that the sensors are under the door mirrors they are like little nipples fixed to the stalks the mirrors are fixed to :) if im wrong someone please correct me :)

just kidding :)

Sorry custard that was just TOOOO subtle for me :) Im feeling very poorly tonight so im going to call it a night I'm of to bed :(

The thermometer is under the left hand side wingmirror under the wingmirror itself (not under stalk). Unless you've got something stuck to it i don't think there's much u can do. Keep in mind that it measures air temperature, this means that it can be a sunny day, where you feel it's quite warm when you're in the sun but the air temp can still be quite low (i agree from 7 to 15º is quite a difference but who knows)..

I noticed them today... thought they were some form of button, but they ddn't do anything....

that makes sense.

found the sensor, its on the right mirror for me - unfortunatly I dont have the spare on the other mirror! oh well.....its just a little niggle and I do love the car!!!

Our Stilo had this issue, the dealer sprayed something on it to bring it to 0 degrees, but the sensor took 15 or so minutes to change! They fitted a new sensor & a new door node (after I complained :p), and it's been perfect ever since; both Stilo's and the BMW usually completely agree! (its only ever the BMW that differs to the Stilo's which are ALWAYS the same :D)
