Does someone know how the Connect+ firmware is upgraded? Is there a special upgrade CD or is it done with the Fiat tester (with the OBD-II link)?

The reason for asking is that nobody i Denmark (not event the danish Fiat distributor) seems to know how to upgrade the Connect+ firmware.

I suspect it is just from inserting a copy of the new software on cd and hitting some buttons on the system itself. When I got my car it came with a version of the software on cd for me to keep along with the sat nav disc so this makes me think they just insert a newer version of the cd and do it that way.

Yes, I expect so too, but I have to know for sure. I’ve been asked by Fiat to find out how the upgrade is done, so the info has to be accurate.

I think the Magnetti Marelli disc that comes with the car only contains the language setup data, not the SatNav firmware

There is a firmware upgrade and it is supplied by Fiat. Your dealer should be asking their main HQ for this info. the sofware has to be intstalled in the right order you cannot jump from 8.1 to 9.8 if you get my meaning. Spk with your dealer and get them to get in touch with their main HQ and request the firmware upgrades. They are done by dealer only. We the customer only get the basic setup & nav disc. It is an easy install not taking long at all.
i only know this as this is what my dealer told me happens.
