I've just bought a Stilo 1.6 Sport... Looks great :D!

Sadly I didnt get a user manual with the car... and part of me said "ahh... you wont need that", but hey presto, 4 days later, one of the tail lights has blown and needs replacing... I've had a look at the back of the light, but can't see how you unscrew it from the car to change a bulb. Do you really have to get something on to those three tiny nuts and unscrew it that way?!?

If anyone has any advice, please let me know!

Pete.

Yes fraid so that the way it has to be done :bang:

I had a feeling someone might say that! Thanks for your help anyway... I take it there's no tool that comes in the kit on the spare?!? They're in VERY awkward places!

Ahh well... head back down into the boot then!

Get in there with a little ratchit spanner ive done both sides of mine with no real prob just dreading when the fronts go

I had to replace the secong side light bulb which both went about the same time

Dear Pete Everrit,

It really is very easy to remove the whole light assembly. Once those three nuts are undone, the unit comes out very easily - just don't drop it.....

The rear light unit looks expensive on the car, but is surprisingly cheaply made.

Yeah... I had a Punto Mk I before this Stilo... that was easy to take the light assembly off too... It was just the awkward positioning of the nuts, and the lack of a user manual that made me put the post up to make sure I was doing it right!

Thanks for your post.

God knows, the Stilo (3-door anyway) benefits from twin read light on both sides, so one popped bulb is hardly an issue! :p
This is true... Part of me thinks it looks better with only the top bulb on actually... but I think I'll replace the lower one so they both match! Still need to get round to doing it! Ahh well...

Why are you all talking about taking the whole cluster out?? Get a torch & you'll see that all you have to do is remove the bulb holder!(y) This is only clipped in, just push the sides together & it should release. Then just change the bulb required & pop the bulb holder back in.;)

You can't do that without taking the cluster off the back of the car, can you?!? I can't see how anyway...

Whoops just been out to my car & it appears I'm wrong! As the rear light clusters are encased by the rear quarter panel. Apologies chaps on most NORMAL cars you simply take the bulb carrier off.

These aint NORMAL bud... think sometimes that they are sophisticated (read fookin' akward) for sophistications sake :bang: Not had the pleasure of rear bulbs yet but scars from the fronts just about faded out now (after 5 months)

Job done! Thanks for all your help guys. Once I got the right spanner for the job it was done in 5 mins... I did have a look at the fronts for interest, and I'm really not looking forward to one of the side lights going... Fingers crossed it won't happen for a LONG time!

Thanks again,
Pete.
