Well I went to get a price on my wheels today, and was quoted £90 per wheel. That's for two seperate paint jobs, one for the spokes and one for the outer rim like I have done in the picture. That's baked on too with a few coats of laquer to finish.

If it was a straight forward spray job then it would have cost £30-£40 a wheel depending on finish required.

:yum: (y)

hmmm just contacted them and they will do them for £120 including any kerb damgage repaired, although i am unsure that they will bake them, will this matter hugely?
thanks alex

excellent price (y) , most ppl ive spoke to havent had them baked and years down the line there still as good! Although uve got to be carefull how you clean ie. dont use alloy wheels cleaner with acid in them as they will break down the top coat of laquer just use a fairy liquid or your car wax shampoo :)

EDIT: i dont know if you've gona by the price's on there website but when i contacted them its was more than that for the shadow chrome finish? What finish are you going for?

Fairy liquid has a bleaching effect, so be sure not to get any of it on your bodywork.
Yeah, baking is not essential, as long as the job is prepared properly they will last for years with or without.

Is this a job that needs to be declared on the insurance or what, seeing as it's the same wheels just a slightly different colour ?

Yep, perfect sense. They know about my 19's, they didn't class class them as a mod so I doubt the repaint will make much difference. So if that is the case then painting wheels has to be a better option than buying new ones, although my 18" wheels I had on the Abarth would suit your colour stilo mitchellinman, and if you'd have posted this thread a week ago I'd have swapped them over for about £100 rather than letting the garage have them.

oh rite, well most of the anthracite finishes i have seen are like a dark grey gloss finish! its quite nice i like it but dont want you to be mislead! The finish on the abarth alloy is shadow chrome by the way.

This is an anthracite finish or what other company advertise as there anthracite finish:

Oooh I had some luck today.

My mums just had her scratched Idea repaired by a local guy who does a lot of mercs and BM's, he done a great job and only charged £70. So I asked him how much to do the wheels. The way he was looking at me I thought he was gonna say £500 but he said, sorry mate, I think it will cost you the best part of £200. :D Yeees, result (y) and his work is really top notch.
I have booked it in for a couple of weeks time, I'm getting my local tuning shop that usually does all the mechanical work for me, to come round my house, put the car up on stands and take the wheels away, remove the tyres, take the wheels round this guys house and then basically do the same in reverse.... I can't wait now :D The guy doing the paint job said it's about 10 hours labour so £200 is a bargain.

ooo kicking myself koa! i loved those alloys you had since the first time i saw your pictures!, cant afford them new though now due to me being a poor student!!!
had another email from that company today saying that yes the price would be £120 and that they do bake them. they only need the alloys for 24hrs so im very tempted, really need to get some paint now for the bump strips and spoiler.
