HI
just wondering what sort of mpg people are getting from their abarths?

mine only averages at about 16 mpg, maybe hitting 18 mpg if i drive like a granny and down to 12 mpg if i push it.
my m8 has got the 2.4 v5 golf and he gets 24-30 no matter how he drives and my bro has got a damn tvr which gives him about 18-20 and he thrashes that everywhere.

as you may realize i dont use motorways that often but even so fiat state 29 mpg urban. mentioned it to them on last service but they found nothing wrong, might have to trade it in for a cheaper runabout (ferrari or something)..

Blimey mate that's must be costing you a fortune! I think a Hummer uses less fuel than that (maybe that's a little too sarcastic). When I first got my Stilo 1.6 I was getting between 27 and 28mpg average. Now I get around 34-35. At least it's closer to the 38mpg claimed. Still, 16-18 can't be right. Do you drive your car like Michael Schumacher?!

Driving like a maniac I still manage to get an MPG in the region of 22 - if driven steady I can get it up to 26ish...

well my trip computer is off if I calculate by hand but anyway now in winter it shows 20 mpg. So yeah 16mpg might be a bit much. Try calculating with the distance and the amount of fuel bought. As i was driving somewhere on the highway I compared my trip computer distance to that of the signs. It showed less than what I actually traveled.

I get 23mpg or so, and it gets used and abused every day - taken that figure from trip, still need to do a proper pen 'n' paper calc.

Don't forget, mine is remapped as well :)

I get around 23 day-to-day and 29-31 on the motorway out of my Abarth, which isn't too bad, I think. Has gone down to 18 in bad traffic!

Interesting how these things fluctuate, person to person.

Oh, BTW this data was from trip computer & I have a CDA & remap from Angel (y)

old post being exhumed, i know!

however, abarth mpg.......i get no better than 23.2mpg, sometimes drops to 17-19mpg.

"54" plate selespeed, 41k, serviced at 35k.

even steady driving - really cautiously - does not improve this over the 23.2mpg figure. it may have to go if i cannot improve this!

i travel daily from wakefield to leeds - about 25 miles. each way the fuel guage drops by about a "segment" (almost an 1/8 of a tank to do 20 miles, equating to a tank range of 160m!!!!).

is there a known problem / cure here? i read a while back of people having diagnostics revealling 1600 / jtd issues.

suggestions welcome.....

y dont any of you consider a lpg conversion, been phoning round mine guna cost just over 1k, will save that in a year, abarth owners prob in a few months.

ZHad lpg fitted to mine. £1500 nearly recouped at 16k miles. Even on lpg not hanging about the lowest i've had is 22mpg and this is down 80% on petrol.
The only issue is that the 5 pot is a bit of a bugger to get right. I'm on my 2nd system and it's going in next week for it's 3rd. This time to have a system linked to car ecu so it works in real time. Shoulld also increase mpg :D
