Software Wanted Obd2

Hi, I have just received an OBD2 interface and have downloaded software from scantool 1.1 and easy OBD2 version 1.1.2 but this doesn't do what i need. I have a problem on the air bag light and have checked the sockets under the seatsto no avail, so is there a programme that will allow me to identify where the problem lies, and then when fixed, turn off the light. I have looked on all the websites that Deckchair5 listed on the subject of OBD2's free software and not had any luck.
Any responses welcome

Re: Software Wanted Obd2

I have no idea about the software, but I can give you a hint how to solve the problem with the airbag. There is another socket which can cause an "Airbag Failure". This socket is in the rear boot, behind the right-hand panel/cover. You remove the panel (by hand-there are no bolts or clips) and you will come accross with a few cables and an orange socket. That socket causes the problem (not good contacts). What I did (because whatever I was trying to do the fault was keep beeping), was to cut-off the sockets and solder the cables together, without any socketat all! What the hell! I don't think that I will ever need to separate them!

Before anyone has heart failure, I think he means solder and not strictly weld the wires together.

Tis true, Fiat use cheap and nasty electrical connectors.

Re: Software Wanted Obd2

I had problems with that connection too. Used some cable ties to fix it firmly and no problem since.

Re: Software Wanted Obd2

You can't do anything with OBD2 regarding the airbag ECU. The air bag ECU is a separate ECU module, usually located in the centre of the car under the gearshift console, has a separate diagnostics connector ( sometimes just a 3 pin connector) and needs dedicated software to communicate with it.

Looking for bad connections is best plan like others have said. Thankfully the air bag light eventually goes off if the circuit tests ok (unlike the Bravos which lock on and can only be cleared by Fiat Examiner)

There's another air bag circuit connector in the glove box hidden behind a panel in the roof of the glove box coloured bright yellow

Re: Software Wanted Obd2

Hi
Thanks all i did'nt know about the one in the boot whats that about! but will have a look later . I have tried the one in the glove box but to no avail.
I did notice last night that when i was not sat in the drivers seat stood out side with ignition on the seat belt light was on so i plugged in the belt and it went off as there was no weight on the seat could that mean the pressure switch could be faulty?
Thanks deck for that tip about cleaning throttle body with carb cleaner it worked a treat https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/24944-loss-power-cold-start-up.html
