HI, I Have just joined the Forum as I placed an order for a new :)metallic navy blue Stilo 1.9 JTD Dynamic 3 door from Jamjar.com on 17th December. for delivery in March on the 04 plate. I was just wondering because there are a few more people on here who have ordered a Stilo and some from Jamjar who have experienced delivery time delays. JJ told me it would be a "factory order" and would be 04 spec, What kind of delays are there at the moment?. Do you think JJ were kidding me and it will be an 03 spec model from stock? Also on other sites I noticed that fiat has slightly revamped the Stilo for 04 and added 2 new engines. But, Does this mean that they have discontinued the 1.9 , 115 bhp "Unijet" diesel> because I see the new "multijet" is only availble as a 70 bhp and 100 bhp unit? First and foremost im "hoping" I get a "good one", because I think the JTD is a superb motor.

Lets hope this one doesnt go up in flames

OH and one thing I forgot to ask, Jamjar told me they were acredited by Fiat as "dealers" and that I would get the full "UK" warrenty which is 2 years factory warrenty plus a 3rd years dealer warrenty. I read on one topic this may not be so (the 3rd year). Have I been had?

Lets hope this one doesnt go up in flames

My car took almost 5 months to the day as a factory order placed back at the start of July. The factory has had huge backlogs on orders, if you look in some of the other threads you'll see details on this.

As for Jam Jar being a dealer, take a look at www.dixonmotors.co.uk
Dixon and Direct Line both owned Jam Jar, with Dixon presumably supplying most of the cars through its dealer network. The whole lot is now owned by Bank of Scotland I believe.

As far as I know the warranties are 2+1 unless I miss read mine.

Thanks Paul. I ordered the car before I found fiatforum, Ive read the other threads now and Im unhappy about waiting for half a year if it takes that long. Also Im shocked that Fiat hasnt got their act togather after the s**t they were producing in the early 90's. I had a Tempra-mental and it spent most of the 4 years I owned it at lacal dealer being fixed for faults, it had 6 new headlights, 4 new clutch slave cylinder 2 new rear shockers and some respray work before the headlight wiring shorted out setting the car on fire causing a write of. Got any advice on what to do next?

Lets hope this one doesnt go up in flames

hi. my stilo took 10 weeks to be delived to the day the dealer said .
it was a factory order.i ordered on tht 22 sept.

The 1.9JTD 115bhp engine won't be discontinued...

The Multijet 1.9 in the Stilo is 140bhp!

The 70bhp and 100bhp that you refer to is for the Punto..

The current 80bhp Unijet it also being kept.

I too bought my Stilo from Jamjar. I found the service excellent.
I was told my car would arrive in Mid June but infact it was delivered end of May - So i was very impressed (with the car too! ;))

If Jamjar say it is 04 spec then I would imagine it would be - if you have a decent local Fiat Dealership then when you receive the car ask em!

My dealership is decent and are happy and willing to help out with any queries like that...

Thanks for the helpful and supportive words mate. Fiat have told me that from June 2004 the 1.9 JTD "Unijet" engine is to be discontinued and replaced by a 120 CV "Multijet" as well as the 140 CV unit, I know when Fiat make a "good one" that it can be very good indeed!.

Lets hope this one doesnt go up in flames

Jetweed,- Fiat have 3 years AA cover on offer for vehicles sold at the moment Because im getting the car from jamjar, Will I still get the 3 years AA cover included> and will I get the 3rd years "dealer" cover on the warrenty?

As long as the car is uk sourced, you'll get the 3 year warranty/AA Cover. This is standard on all UK sourced fiats, and has been for a few years now.

Thanks Paul. I cant wait to get behind the wheel of my Stilo. I have test driven 3 of them. a 1.2 3 door Active, a 1.9 JTD 5 door Active and a 1.6 3 door Dynamic. I chose what I thought were the best combination of assets and for me it was the 1.9 JTD engine with the stylish 3 door almost Coupe like bodystyle in Dynamic trim, and all for the price of an old model 1.4 E Golf. I also test drove a VW polo 1.4 TDi 5 door and whilst it drove moderately well the dealer was really arrogant and wouldnt give a discount because "we can sell every one we get" so.....A small 1.4 3 cylinder VW in a very expensive bodyshell or a lively , punchy 1.9 JTD Stilo? with twice as much style with a lot more torque.....no contest.

John you made the right choice!

Btw in regards Warranty and AA Cover - you get exactly what any other UK Fiat has which is 3 yrs Warranty and 3 yrs Fiat AA Priority Assurance....

The JTD Unijet is certainly the best engine out of the current range of engines - would like to test drive the 140bhp Multijet..

I can tell you the JTD 115bhp Engine is a dream to drive..

Everyday when i power the beast up its like well theres no words to describe it... Excitement?

To sit in a car with soo much style and power is awesome!
When I say power i mean it - VW Golf drivers are terrified, when i come hurtling a long and they notice that it has the FIAT badge emblazoned on the front.

I would like to know how the 03 and 04 3 door model differs..

Any update on when it'll arrive?

Hi Jetweed, Im glad you approve, I found Jamjars price irresistable I mean I got it for under 10k including nearly £500- of options and I put a high value on driver comfort as well and the Stilo's sports seats are excellent and very supportive. I ordered the blue interior (navy blue met paint), hope they dont clash ;)LOL. It was the torque :D in "real-world" driving that did it for me, smooth power all over the rev band and most importantly, no discernable turbo-lag. This is one savvy oil burner. Plus , it is a "factory" order im told due to the options. I have specifically asked JJ for a fresh 2004 newly built one because of all the improvements incorporated in it. On Friday i was told by JJ that due to the xmas holiday Fiat had not yet received the order and that it would be "finalised" W/B 5th January, but JJ estimated delivery sometime in March.
