General New Stilo owner but think I made mistake advice please

I have never ever said the 5 door is a better looking car than the 3 door, but I got mine out of sheer practicality - 2 children, and constantly moving car seats over from the Ulysse to the Stilo, never easy. Plus more head room in the back!

My 5 door does have a 2.4 litre lump in it as well :slayer: - plus been modded - 3 door front bumper, lowered, etc.

See I think thats why he got it also as it is more practical than having two 3dr cars, I can live with it as it is nice to drive etc and the previous owners have done a lot to it already so its not a standard Dynamic by any means. Will see what they say today if not I will go about about lowering it etc..

Some pics of mine here although some are dated now, showing the old bumper on, pre-lowering, etc.

Whether it is a 3 door or a 5 door, they still need lowering whatever.

but you know the three doors are better hope phil or stu dnt here me say that

Phill and Stu DID hear you say that :p the 5dr is a more practical car and can be improved for looks yes its much harder to work with the lines of this car but THAT is the challange Ime sure you will find this out if you dont get the 3dr but good luck to you which ever way you go [Just proves that the MALE of our species are the more practical] SOMETIMES :p :D

I have the three door as it looks great and dont if rarely ever use the back seats. If it wasnt for the stilo existing i'd be in a merc c240 or MX5 as that was what i was looking at long before i thought a could afford a car so new (at the time!)

BTW

Stu wasnt the first 5 door stilo with a 3 door bumper on it, been driving past one for a long time on way to work that has a 3 door bumper and 17" claws

Question to you B.B.S. have you a Wife and chidren ? I think if the answer to the second part [children] is no then thats why you probably dont use the rear seats now if you have children then from my experience a 5dr makes life a darn site easier (y)

See I have checked the Garage and they only have 2 3drs in stock both of which are Jan 06 ones so it will be a few grand more but I don' mind that if I get what I want..
See I test drove a friends one before agreeing to it then let him go and buy it as I was away last week, but they are totally different as he bought a Dynamic

Cheapskate hey.

Will go and see them tomorrow and flash some erm cash and maybe a tad bit of leg and hope for the best.. :)

Cant really call him a cheapskate for buying a Dynamic 5 door, not when you consider that to be pretty much the most feature packed model of the range :)

But if your happy to loose the extras, then enjoy the Arbarth 3dr :)

Done a new post since I cant edit and add to the old one.

When you say alot has been done to it already, what do you mean?

If I was to compare mines to a 5door arbarth/Pristegio(sp) I think its only short on Alloys (being an 02 model) ESP and Connect Nav (and even then this has been deleted from the arbarth now)

And a 2.4 lump?!

I will now go and find my thread re 3 door bumper.....

Thanks all for the comments,

I certainly hope that he didn't get the 5dr in the hope of filling it with sprogs well atleast for a few yrs anyway.. I have now struck a deal with the bf in that I keep it till next yr and then get a new model one if they are released by June/July next yr..

When I said the old owner had already done some things these included having satnav installed and 17" alloys, so all is not too bad.

Took it for a long spin yesterday down to Brighton and back and I liked it, ok it is a tad high but I can get used to that in time and once its lowered that will no longer be a problem. So I can now say I no longer think it is ugly just not as nice as the 3dr.

Oh and think how much easier it will be for me to put all my shopping in the back of it......

And yes that is a valid point especialy for ladies SHOPPING you certainly like to fiil your boots there :D well now you have back seats also (y)

You sure you are doing the right thing ? If you are gonna get it changed with the possiblilty of not taking a loss then it may still be worth talking to the dealers while the purchase is still fresh.

That's just my thought because I know I would hate to have to drive around a car that I wasn't 100% happy with ;)
