Well i went down to sheffield on friday to see the guys @ exhaust uk to have my exhaust system fitted! I went for a full system; well cat-back! The manifold is to come at a later date. I decided to go for a letter box design and ever since i saw mike norton's exhaust (y) i knew that was the one for me! Got a nice what they describe it as a medium sports sound, is quite beefy! But i can live with it :D

The car as done 300miles + in the past two days well yesterday and this morning, so as you can see is rather dirty. But i want to put some pictures up so here they are:

I have noticed a slight improved throttle responce, no top end lost ;) <phew> which i was woring about in the previous exhaust threads as you guys know! Its much quicker in 2nd and 3rd, the power delivery seem much smoother.. but there is a noticable flat spot in third which i want sorting out!

Also had a slight ridge cut into the bumper as it was well to low without, being lowered 50mm and all! I was quite worried about this but am very pleased with the result (y) I know there is a bit of paint chipped on me rub strip before one of you guys point it out, silly me reversed into a bollard - but its getting sorted out in a month or so now, just gota wait for me m8s barn to be empty to get there..to get to work on the bodywork

Oh and the next stage is the GSR induction which shall be fitted in about 3weeks time :)

Enjoy!

:yeahthat: 1.8 and the letter box look is one of the best for the stilo (y) now tell me this was the flat spot in 3RD gear there before you had the system fitted and it my be wise to ask on here if there is any way to get rid of it. that could save you a journey back there as i cant see really there is anything THEY can do about it :( it may well sort its self out when the other work your having done at GSR is compleated (y)

Yeah, it was there before but wasnt quite as bad? If that makes sence.. or i just seem to notice it more now! I was hoping the induction kit and remap would sort it out though! I'll have to see what pete makes of it!

If anyone knows of any fix's for it please help all knowledge would be greatfull..

its around 5k revs, but i only rev it too 5.5k revs, cos it just feels like your raging/over reving it any more and 5.5k is upto were the peak power is on the 1.8! id say 4/4.5k revs is wear the engine gives a good kick back!

EDIT: Oh and here a shiny pic of me car, h8 looking at dirty pics ;) lol!

all though it dosent hav the exhaust on in it!!!

DIRT PICS  ;) well if the flat spot was there before then it look highly probable that the exhaust isn't at fault But has exaggerated it sound like it could be some kind of fueling fault anyone know where Batman Decks & Robin RRoope are :D (y)and did you go 50mm pipe work all the way through the system ?

Disconnect/reconnect the battery. Because you have improved the gas flow with a less restrictive exhaust the ECU needs to relearn the settings. If you've still got a flat spot after that I'm afraid only a remap/chip will sort it.

Im going to give that a try tomorra, disconnect and the battery for a while and reconnect it and go for a blast to see if its made any difference! I was outside for quite a few hours cleaning the stilo as it was filthy so here's the exhaust nice and clean this time :D

1.8Stilo, can you PM me with the price of that 'zorst as well mate. Also, did Exhausts UK do the cut-out as well?

I fancy a twin-pipe design but i like the way yours sits into the bumper...
