I have a Red 1.2 16v Stilo Active.
My Dad has a 1.2 8v Punto.

The deal is, I take my Dads X-Reg Punto off him for £1500

He takes my 03 Stilo and pays the rest of the £5K on it.

I put the Punto in the garage along with £2K in cash and come out with a 04 Blue 1.9 JTD Dynamic with alloys and lowered springs, spoiler etc, full leather trim, MP3 player and pay £199 per month for 3 years.

Currently i pay £150 per month for the next 3.5 years. What would you do, and how good are the JTD's?

Insurance doesn't seem to be a problem, there is barely a difference (elephant quote me £700 fot the JTD and £650 for the 1.2)

Wouldn't say you have a bargain by any means.

1500 + 2000 + (199 x 36) = £10664 - - - - - a lot for a 04 JTD

06 will be out soon, so this car could be nearly 2 years old, depending on exactly when registered.

You should be paying around £8200 for a 3 door and slightly less for 5 door 1.9 JTD dyn. straight.

Your choice though. Shop around first. you may see something else.

Take your point, looks ok at a first glance but broken down like you have above it looks well OTT! With the new Grande Punto out now and the New Stilo just around the corner coupled with PNL's / Chaos's (I think.. but stand to be corrected) posts on JTD's at Car Supermarkets in South Wales @ 8K ish think I would either A) Sit and wait for prices to drop further, as they undoubtedly will or B) Smack the dealers wrists and tell him to do you a decent / 0% rate on the finance (my local dealer is doing plenty low / 0% interest deals at the moment) on a properly priced used JTD Stilo. Its a buyers market... they need your custom more than you need their secondhand cars :) they wont do the deal then you walk... to somebody who will!

i bought my 04 stilo from fiat when it was 3 months old at £10995 with leather, 17" wheels, over 60 months is £228 per month with 450 deposit
last week a local fiat dealer offered me £6500 for it against a new one, which would have cost me an extra £30 a month with a £500 deposit. i would shop around and see what else is on offer!

I might have a 1.6 16v Xbox on offer tomorrow for £6000 straight, no deposit and no finance.

we'll see....
