Hi

I've just had the Blaupunkt IDC-A09 5-disc CD Changer installed into my car. Ive noticed that the lights on the unit stay on for about a minute after the radio / ignition is turned off. Also, if you turn the ignition off when its at, for example, 30secs into a track, when you turn the radio back on, it would have gone past that. Switch it on and off for less than a minute, the time it was off is added to its last position you heard.

In other words, I think it's still playing even when the radio is off.

Is this right? Do any other Stilo owners have this, or do I have a defective unit?

It was first fitted by Sidwell Street Motors Exeter (local Fiat dealer), but i wasnt happy with how the glovebox lid rested, so I refitted it myself.

The only thing I wonder is if the lead has been put correctly on the back of the stereo, but surely it wouldnt work otherwise?

Hi,

I have had the same problem, it seems to come and go. If you change to the radio before switching off the cd stops. If you leave the CD on it carries on for a while.

I'd call it a feature not a fault! I suspect others have the same problem but haven't noticed yet.

I'm sure you have fitted it correctly, and at the end of the day you only loose about 60 seconds or so!!!

You're right. If you press the Pause button, or turn back to radio, it remembers exactly where you stopped it. I guess it IS a feature, or how i like to call it, a characteristic of the car. The lovely Stilo - plagued with characteristics!
