Being ignorant on mechanics, everyone seems to be uping their bhp, popping into dealers for an hour and coming out with an F1 car.
If it is all down to chips etc, andengine management systems, can a 1.8 petrol be upgraded a tweak, surely it has the same management type of computer.
and every computer can be upgraded.
Please forgive my ignorance. If not my 133bhp looks destined to stay that way?

I am thinking about getting a abarth, but I really want it to be Yella and have the same 17" rims as my current 1.6, which makes hunting one down even harder, I will say I do love the dark blue of koa's though.

I can say YES, the 1.8 can be remapped... unfortunetly angel tuning cant offer this neither can celtic tuning that advertise on here! I have tryed loads and loads of places and they all said no! Apart from this one company that are fiat tuning specialist 'GSR engineering'... i would really recommend this guy he was very knowledgable and helpfully! Although i haven't had the remap done im saving my pennys to have it done very soon? He can offer an 'off the shelve' remaps and 'live' remaps; the different being an off the shelve is cheaper and is just programmd to the typical 1.8 varient! Were as a 'live' remap will give you a few more bhp as it is done persific to your car and your current engine modifications? Thats why i didnt have my done straight away as im getting a supersprint exhuast and induction put on first then the live remap? If you do a google search you find his details?

Good luck hope this helps :D

EDIT: you cant get a superchip as the ecu as a flash back memory!

EDIT: If your woundering about prices for a typical supersprint centre sections and back box the cheapest i could find was £570 thats without fitting! if you want a supersprint manifold aswell there about £340!

Plus an induction kit a K&N 57i will cost around £60-70

And a live remap £250 buts thats a cheaper rate as they guy is a member on here who owns the comapny and does a special rate for FF members :)

The only other option is a novitec supercharger which is rather expensive, but boost the bhp to around 182 solely? Its something like 2-3000 euro's and i should think fitting would be expensive too...

The guy at gsr also mention being able to head work, i dont know what other tuning goodie's he can offer for the 1.8 atm as i havent enquired any further, but i have seen uprated camshafts avaliable for the 1.8 for around £350
